For the first time, John Edwards is publicly admitting that he is indeed the father of a 2-year-old daughter conceived with Rielle Hunter, a campaign videographer with whom he had an affair.
In a written statement provided exclusively to NBC News, the former North Carolina senator and Democratic presidential candidate says he’s taking responsibility for the child, Frances Quinn Hunter:
“I am Quinn’s father. I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves. I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace.

He should admit he fabricated channeling the voices of dead children during his trial lawyer days.

I don’t believe this!!!! The EneMedia told us Repeatedly that he and Elizabeth were the happiest married couple...EVER!! And they didn’t cover this story of an affair and a baby at all....it was The National Enquirer, so who are we to believe...The Natl. Enq. or our FINE, TRUTHFUL MEDIA??? I am torn..../sarc.
When the news of his affair and possible “love child” first came out, I actually felt sorry for Elizabeth. I’ve read interviews with the guy who took the fall for it (cannot recall his name) and I believe Elizabeth is a political animal just like her slimy husband.
Well, Edwards appears to be heterosexual (albeit in a sissy sort of way).

This is the same Andrew Youngt that took the rap for fathering the kid in the first place a couple of years ago. What an assortment of tools.
This is little more than John Edwards being forced to come clean in advance of the publication of his former aid Andrew Young’s book, in which Young is reportedly going to detail everything he knows about this scandal, and deny that he is the father.
“John Edwards doing the right thing” is an oxymoron of enormous proportions.
Jim and Tammy Faye Baker had nothing on John and Elizabeth Edwards when it came to drama. The only thing Elizabeth is lacking is tattooed eye makeup...
Who can forget that the MSM refused to cover the Edwards scandal. Flat out refused.

He recently sent staff an edict. “There has been a little buzz surrounding John Edwards and his alleged affair,” it read. “Because the only source has been the National Enquirer we have decided not to cover the rumours or salacious speculations.”
However, the LA Times covered the rumors about McCain having an affair in depth despite them being false.
This hits the mark. Very sad, you don't get to choose your parents.
