A Metro Transit bus driver was punched in the forehead during a stop on the Nicollet Mall during afternoon rush hour in Minneapolis by an angry and drunken man who was forcibly removed by several riders, a bus official and witness said Wednesday.
The assault happened about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday on Nicollet between 10th and 11th Streets downtown, said transit spokesman Bob Gibbons.
The man swung at the driver several times, according to video surveillance on the bus and struck her once, Gibbons said. She did not require medical attention.
The suspect was arrested on the street by transit police and now faces a potential felony charge of "interference with transit," Gibbons said.

Looks like we're not going to take any crap from idiots on busses, either......
I'd like to see that happen on an airplane.
That is what a society should be. People getting together and disapproving of unacceptable behavior as strenuously as necessary.
You made me laugh!!!!
Drunks don’t bounce....they plop.
It was Al Franken making good on his campaign promise to use public transport.
You might be right. Let’s get him drunk again and do a mythbusters episode on that.
INTERFERENCE WITH TRANSIT?
How about Assault & Battery???
I worry about my sister, every day...She rides the bus to work in downtown MPLS every morning, arriving at 05:45...
The most trouble she has ever had was driving from home to her local transit station....about 2 miles.
She was sitting at a stoplight and some moron came out of nowhere and jumped on the trunk of her car, pounding on the back glass....
Light turned grenn, off he went....
Laws of physics haven't been repealed yet, eh?
U kiddin me?
The lawyers are probably lining up around the block to take on his noble cause.
What’s the difference between a lawyer and a mosquito?
One’s a blood sucking parasite and the other is an insect.
Nope.
She looked in the rear view and he landed flat on his back and the back of his head bounced....
“from the gene pool?” he asked hopefully.
Sadly.....no.
See my #3 about people getting together and disapproving of unacceptable behavior as strenuously as necessary...
