Kudlow Should Run Against Schumer in November
Big Government ^ | January 19, 2010 | Andrew Miller

Because of the resignation of Hillary Clinton from the U S Senate and the subsequent appointment of Kirsten Gillibrand, both of New York’s U.S. Senate seats are on the ballot this fall. While most of the focus has been on a potential dust up between the Junior Senator and former Congressman Harold Ford, Jr., no one has emerged as a potential candidate to oppose Senator Chuck Schumer, who’s campaign coffers contain more than $30 million.

kudlow_Bio.standard

But a candidate might emerge. New York Tea Party leaders are talking up the potential candidacy of CNBC Talking Head and former Reagan Advisor Larry Kudlow. A graduate of the University of Rochester, Kudlow is one of the architects of the Reagan tax-cuts that sparked one of the great economic boom in modern times. Kudlow who also worked for New York Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, is recognized as a leading anti-tax supply side economist. Kudlow is also know as one of the most effective debaters on the Right.

Kudlow is known to have beaten an addiction to cocaine which almost derailed his career. Kudlow was addicted to coke and he beat it, Schumer is addicted to special interest campaign contribution and that’s a bigger problem today. Kudlow is the kind of candidate who could raise tea party money across America . Kudlow could also command the Republican and Conservative nominations and might even be able to petition his way on the ballot as the Libertarian party nominee.

Kudlow was mentioned as a possible candidate against Chris Dodd last year. Kudlow owns a home in Connecticut.

Chuck Schumer is a corporate whore who was whole-hog for the expansion of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and is as responsible for the sub-prime mortgage crisis as anyone in America. Now he has crowned himself the King of New York, deciding who can and cannot run for public office. More and more New Yorkers are fed up with this self-serving schmuck.

Run , Larry, Run !

I've been thinking Kudlow for some time. Love his radio program and like what I see when I catch his TV show. He's smart, for small government, knows his economics. We need people in the senate who are not career politicians! I would sorely miss his radio program. But then I'm sure he can have his very qualified guests, Jimmy P perhaps, take over the show. If Kudlow's a no-go, then what about Steven Moore from the WSJ?!

Kudlow was a full-bore supporter of the original TARP. For that reason I would not trust him with any aspects of economic policy more consequential than running a hot dog cart.

Schumer also triggered the run on the Indy Mac Bank.

His comments were the catalyst, IMO.

Funny- now the INDY MAC bank is owned by a group of private investors. George Soros is one of them. IS CHUCK ME SCHUMER another silent investor????

Kudlow is an economist, perhaps the second most useless group of people in society after .... hang on a sec, my mind is drawing a blank....

I’ll have to think a bit on the idea of who is more useless than economists. In the meantime, let’s find someone who has some common sense on the economy to run as a candidate.

Somebody needs to investigate how Chuckie can be holding on to 30 Million in contributions. Something smells very fishy in NY.

Kudlow is still preferable to Chuck Schumer or Kirsten Gillibrand. Is there anyone NY can put up? I know NY can elect a Republican senator—if only one would step up and run!

Peter King and Susan Molinari are out. I think Giuliani is out. Don’t know about Pataki—plus he’s ho-hum. Any ideas? Any one?

I would sorely miss his radio program.
As would I. But the thought of his running against Chuckie is delicious.

Given that so much of the NYC economy is now sustained by corporate welfare, it’s doubtful that anyone with common sense on the economy could win there.

New York Tea Party leaders are talking up the potential candidacy of CNBC Talking Head and former Reagan Advisor Larry Kudlow.

This can't possibly be true.

Sept 23, 2008: Bernie Sanders laughs in Kudlow's face on CNBC: "You've become a Socialist overnight, Larry!":

He’s pro amnesty for illegals too. I like him but, I don’t think I could vote for him for that reason.

I completely agree. FURTHERMORE, the Tea Party Movement (whose mantra in the beginning was “A Pox on BOTH their houses”) has forfeited all reformist bona fides by evolving into a complete shill for the a bankrupt (intellectually and morally) Republican party, as well as endorsing BANKERS as candidates. The Tea Party is a sad punchline to a joke. Completely co-opted by turncoats like Glenn Beck, etc.

The election is 9 months away. I like Kudlowe 80% of the time. I felt he was way too rah-rah at times, and defended some things I disagreed with. But with Schumer and Gillibrand I agree 0% of the time.

Let’s brainstorm here instead of just trashing this suggestion. I like Steven Moore of the Wall Street Journal. I think New York’s next Republican senator is not currently a politician. This is the perfect place to come up with some candidates.

There are -some- bankers whose opinions I would respect.

By and large these would be the senior management of regional commercial banks, who were prudent in managing their portfolios and valued long-term relationships with their customers. Many of them spoke out loudly against the bailouts.

As far as the investment bank whizkids with their CDO's and credit default swaps, they belong in orange jumpsuits or working the drive-thrus.

Kudlow is anti-Jacksonian.
He is a Jew for Jesus that the Jews for Jesus organization uses to proselytize to other Jews in the NYC metro area. That alone makes it nearly impossible for him to win in NY State.

He is a TARP supporter.

He openly supports unrestricted immigration.

He takes most of his advise from the very bankers who destroyed the country. He wines, dines and soirées with the intellectual elite of the far left in the NYC metro area daily.

He personally devised the destructive tax policies of Christie Todd Whitman that bankrupted NJ.

He takes his orders and POV on finance punditry from the financial supporters of Chuck Schumer.

http://www.nytimes.com/1994/04/03/business/a-wall-st-star-s-agonizing-confession.html

He’s had an incredible life and career, but he can work in appointed positions without the scrutiny of a primary and general elections to much better ends.

Larry would be great, I watch his show every night for years and he has ripped the TARP from the begining after it went from buying toxic assets to a free giveaway.

New York Tea Party leaders ? Who are they ? Where do I sign up ?
