Palin to campaign for McCain in March
CNN ^

Posted on 01/20/2010 10:29:12 AM PST by Def Conservative

As Sen. John McCain readies for a potential primary challenge from the right this fall, the Arizona Republican is playing his trump card.

Sarah Palin, McCain's former running mate and perhaps the most powerful brand in Republican politics, will stump for McCain in Arizona on March 26 and 27, a Palin adviser told CNN. The presence of Palin - and the considerable crowds and media attention she will draw - might give pause to J.D. Hayworth, the former Republican congressman and radio host who opposes McCain's position on illegal immigration and is mulling a Senate run of his own.

I agree with you and have been saying the same thing. Look how fickle some on here are. As long as Sarah is doing what they want, she’s gold. The minute she does something they don’t agree with - then kick her to the curb. Such loyalty. Fair weather supporters? Its like you love your kids when they do everything you want them to, and the minute they don’t, you kick them out of the house. Conditional type of love, I’d say.

What the hell is she thinking??? McCain’s more liberal than many of the dems. I’ve wanted Sarah in D.C. since before she ran for VP, but if she does this, I’m done. I like Sarah, but I love America.

It's “now or never” time for JD

Agreed.

Otherwise, I may be voting for a saguaro cactus in the primary.

I’m amazed at how some call the left haters and then read their hatred for John McCain. Isn’t this calling the kettle black?

If true, bad move for Sarah. I like her but have never been convinced she is qualified to be president (although, in truth, I can't imagine she wouldn't be an improvement over Obambi). If she does campaign for McCain, I don't see how I could possibly support her.

Too bad.

McCain probably considers Chris Simcox, the founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense group, a serious challenger. He is the only Republican opponent and immigration is a big issue for Republican voters in AZ. He may have been concerned that Sarah would go rogue on him and endorse Simcox thus he probably asked for the endorsement.

I don’t see where she has been untrue to any principles. Simcox would not win in a general election in AZ and the goal in 2010 is to retake the Senate and the House.

[I think this is who she is...]

Sadly, that same thing never worked for Bush.
We castigated him over his reluctance to stop the illegals. In his Christian faith, he felt he must ‘help the poor’ and downtrodden.

That’s ‘who he is’.

I don’t think Sarah ‘owes’ anything to McCain. He obviously picked her to HELP himself.

He’s not using her. She has the ability to say no if she doesn’t want to do it.

WOW!! I truly felt she would remain neutral on this one. McCain must have asked her - she only goes where she is asked.

Sorry, Sarah. Us Patriots have ‘no commitment’ to turncoat McShame but a commitment to America and it’s freedom.

Keeping America safe for eight years is worth a lot...

I had (still have) hopes that JD would challenge him right after the first of the year, so he would have time to raise plenty of money and get his grass roots organization up and running in a timely fashion!

That's what they said about Brown in Massachussets on January 1.

Food for thought...

To date, McCain does not have a serious challenger, except a democrat, I guess, but I can’t name the democrat.

Since you've followed Palin for so long, you know that her political instincts are very good. Let's let this play out a bit before we get too excited about it.

If no serious conservative candidate steps up (and it's possible that Palin has inside information that we don't), McCain will be our guy in the 2010 general election. As bad as McCain is, he is undoubtedly better than whoever the Democrats will bring forward.

She endorsed him for President in 2008, now she’s endorsing him for senator.

You tell me, what’s changed?

Y’mean in Arizona in 2010, or for President in 2012?

If she keeps her standards and doesn’t lie down with dogs, SHE would be a “serious conservative candidate” and we could kick McCain to the curb.

One of the reasons I like Sarah Palin is because she does what she wants to do, not what others tell her to do. Would it make everyone happy if Palin took a poll so she will know how to respond in every situation? Would all the housebound knee-jerk reactionaries looking for a reason to be pissed about something and everything be satisfied then? If you all want everything done YOUR WAY, YOU DO IT! sheeeesh
