Moderate or not, there shouldn’t be an elected Republican that will break his contract with all Republicans by voting for any bill that directly opposed the Republican platform.
The platform is the only way to keep the party grounded and honest. It is voted on and passed by all Republicans instead of the elite few elected to office.

Any Republican in office that has violated his contract with all Republicans should be replaced in the next election.

That means even though they believe in killing babies, they should be ready to oppose any bill that allows abortions to be paid for by federal dollars.

If Ronald Reagan were to rise out of the grave and win a seat in congress, the next day there would be some here on FR calling him a rino.

don’t forget that Brown is pro-choice.

Yeah, well GWB was pro-amnesty, which is just as bad, IMO.

I seriously doubt Brown will ever be as bad as a Lincoln Chaffee or an Arlen Specter. Maybe not even as bad as McCain.

But good luck in your search for absolute perfection.

Change takes time.

Many say ‘no Rino’s’ but better to have someone who agrees with much of your agenda than a dem who is against all of it. You don't get perfection immediately, - usually never.

Start with that and then put the pressure on them to be more conservative or use their Republican vote to keep the power to push for more conservatives. We can't win by allowing any Dem to retain power.

Change comes slow.

Communism has been insidiously pushing its agenda for many decades.

The 9/11 terrorists worked and planned for years to accomplish their one horrific incident.

Muslims have been fighting for thousands of years, gaining followers all the while.

blah blah blah.

If I have to suffer the occassional Brown then fine. My larger concern is getting rid of the ‘leadership’ on DC. I don’t care if those yahoos stay elected or not. Give me Demint and those like him

Less than 1 day and now it is bad news. There are no perfect people and to expect such is very unrealistic. This is a truly a special moment in politics. Can the Republican Party step up and to start with, hit a single? Balance the budget, no more deficit spending. No more bailouts. No more private business restrictions. No more high taxes. No more illegal immigration. No more lying. No more government hiring. No more promises to get re-elected. Nation first, politics a distant second. Doubles, triples and home runs will happen, but 1st base first.

Saturday I told a friend (here in Penna, where we could not have voted for him) that the very best thing about Brown is blockage of ObamaCare, and the second best is that he is not Marcia Coakley...but that I don't trust Massachusetts Republicans any farther than I can throw them.

This is not to trash the man, more like saying a New England Republican is moderate until proven conservative (if ever).

Celebrate the win, celebrate the 41, but prepare for disappointments here and there.

Brown’s a moderate? I was led to believe that he is pro-waterboarding, pro military (he’s a Lt Col) anti abortion and pro business. What’s wrong with him? He could be a big player in the party. I (I’m anti abortion, pro military, anti tax and pro business, but not really anti gay) would support him in a heartbeat. I vote for anyone with a “R” after his/her name.

**In addition, don’t forget that Brown is pro-choice, which down the road will certainly cause some conservatives pause. **

This fact has certainly made me stop and wonder!

We need a pro-lifer in there -- not someone who supports abortion. Yes, it is bad news. I would have voted for him rather than Coakley had I lived in MA, but I wouldn't be happy about this fact at all!

He’s better than Coakley, who, in addition to her political beliefs, was a truly vile individual.
For that matter he’s better than McQueeg and Grahamnesty, at least on Cap and Tax.
Sometimes that’s all you can ask from a candidate.
