Sen. Webb: No HCR Votes Until Brown Seated
talking points memo ^

Posted on 01/19/2010 7:10:50 PM PST by cdchik123

Less than 15 minutes after the race was called for Republican Scott Brown, the first of what could be many conservative Democrats asks for leadership to put the brakes on health care reform.

Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) congratulated Brown on his win and delivered a zinger:

"In many ways the campaign in Massachusetts became a referendum not only on health care reform but also on the openness and integrity of our government process. It is vital that we restore the respect of the American people in our system of government and in our leaders. To that end, I believe it would only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Senator-elect Brown is seated."

I've been hearing that Webb is also hinting at the repeal of the Clean Air Act.

Hmmmm....is Webb soon to be a 42nd Repub vote in the Senate?

Webb is still a POS who would have been happy to pass ObamaCare.

How pleasant it is to crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to listen to the lamentations of their women...

How better that they turn from their wickedness and live.

Again? What a shame that would be. I have a great dislike for him and don’t want him in the Republican party.

This just strengthens my belief that the Dems, knowing how unpopular they are right now, will use it to their advantage. They’ll let Brown kill health care reform, and blame it ALL on the Republicans; he gives them a way out of their unpopular legislation.

“We chose to do the right thing, and not use the nuclear option, and the Republicans remain the party of no.”

I’m OK with it, as long as it kills their bills, but they’ll certainly spin it to their advantage for the upcoming elections.

Watch out for Democrat misdirection. If the House votes to accept the Senate bill without changes, then it will go to Obama for signature without any further Senate action needed. That may be unlikely, but Webb would look like he has integrity, but would not ever have to put it on the line in the Senate.

He can try to make the switch, but I want the GOP to have no part of him come November. Webb is no conservative. Besides, we’ve been down that road before - taking their left-overs who infiltrate our party and sell conservatives down the river.

No thanks, Webb. Just retire if you are unhappy - we don’t want you.

Webb marches to his own drum. He’s been known to tell Harry Reid to go straight to hell when the Rat leadership pisses him off.

Bayh was pulling in the reigns before a vote was cast.
Dont let these rats get away with it.

Dodd and the rest are already headed out of the harbor.
We need to hold these peoples feet to the fire.
The Dems are out of control.
Saying “I’ll be nice and cant we get along?” isnt good enough.

We need to take time now to tack their callous disregard for the peoples wishes on their backs.

It's a good start. May more Dems in the Senate follow.

Democrats have no moral compass. When they sense their ultimate goal of power and control is in trouble, they shift like the winds. These people need to be driven out of Washington.
