Once hot-selling Barack Obama souvenirs are marked down to remainder-table prices at a drugstore near the Kenwood home he owns but has barely visited since becoming president a year ago this week.
That's not a reflection of disenchantment with Obama in his old South Side stomping grounds, but rather the sobering realities of time, distance and enormously elevated responsibilities.

“I’d rather he stay in Washington and take care of them than be focusing on here.””
He’s not staying in Washington, either. He’s always going somewhere. I don’t think he is doing anything. I think others are running the show.
I guess his promise of free money isn’t being taken seriously any longer?
well Peter, imhothe frikkin’ majority of us would actually prefer the ‘bam back in Chi-town and not in D.C.

Always have been. Obama is a mere ventriloquist’s puppet with a bad temper.
I was in Chicago last summer. A giftshop had political items including a Republican coffee mug for 75% off. I bought one as a gift. The cashier looked at the mug and told me she didn’t have any remaining wrapping paper. The person behind me purchased a Dem coffee mug. Guess what was instantly found by the cashier? Wrapping paper.
I would have bought an Obama poster and said that’s OK, I’ll wrap it with this...right in front them.
No suprise Chicago is a little Africa.
