SkyDancer, you have just hit the nail on the head. That’s one of the reasons I lurk rather than post very often. Used to be folks said something intelligent, gave some insight, shared something that was worthy rather than sound like a bunch of ignorant punks giving each other high-fives in an echo chamber.

I have to agree with you there. Not only do I post a lot less because the level of discourse has deteriorated, but I don't even bother reading half the threads I see because I can predict the contents of the first 50 posts without even looking (e.g. "Bush's fault!", "We're doomed!",etc.).

Other than that, I dislike the number of RINOs and Big Government suckers we seem to have added to our membership in the last few years - just about the same time that the level of intelligence seems to have dropped on FR. Coincidence?

Agreed.

In addition, there is a certain Lord Of the Flies element that shuts down open discourse. If you don’t fall in line you are attacked.

I dont think Palin is ready to be the president.
