US Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg dismissed Chávez's accusations about US alleged plans to invade Venezuela
Western Hemisphere The United States is willing to cooperate and work with the Venezuelan government and with other countries in the region with which the US has difficult relationships, said the US Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg.
"We have common challenges and our arms are open. We are ready to work with him, as well as with other countries in the region with which we have difficult relationships," Steinberg said in an interview with Colombian newspaper El Tiempo, referring to Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez.

Well, maybe it’s best not to answer that. But how can two such egos - Bambi’s and Hugo’s - coexist in the same space?
Seriously, I think Obama sees himself being the leader of a Third World coalition, with Hugo and Ahmadinejad (who is a bosom buddy of Hugo’s) being part of his triumvirate. A difficulty might arise over which enormous ego is going to be head of the triumvirate, whowever.
We should invade to save those who didn’t “vote” for that ass. A midnight commando raid on his palace with Navy Seals, a few slashed throats later...tearing Chavez from his inflatable “Obama” blow up doll might be difficult. Dumping his carcass in an active volcano would be the fun part.
