According to a family member, a son killed his mother, father, brother, pregnant sister and his sister’s two-year-old daughter.

The KHOU website indicates that two other children lived at the residence but weren’t there when the deaths occurred. It apparently happened prior to 6:00 pm this afternoon as the KHOU story has a time date of 6:05PM.

Bellville is a small town where “everybody knows everybody” and they all go through the same schools. This is probably devastating to a lot of people who would rather not be named.

I worked there in 1979 and getting information wasn’t always easy. Friendly on the surface but a distrust of people they don’t know.

What’s spooky is that not too far away from there, there were several people murdered in an unsolved crime in the 80’s. Something evil is happening in central Texas...

UPDATE from the AP/Houston Chronicle:

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/6820768.html

But family members said the victims included 69-year-old George Washington and his wife Debra Washington, as well as his wife’s daughter, her son and her 2-year-old grandchild, according to news reports.

Katherine Washington, George Washington’s ex-wife, said she and other relatives are still trying to piece together what happened and to process the tragedy.

“It’s terrible. I can’t believe it,“ she said. “I’m still in denial. The whole family is devastated.“

Katherine Washington said she and George grew up together and were childhood sweethearts before getting married. The couple had three children together before divorcing. She described him as a good, church-going man who regularly attended services.
