“...requiring or encouraging sites to link to opposing viewpoints.”
Sounds reasonable, doesn’t it?
Oh, except that part where they get to force to you link only to “Commie Approved” sites.
Then there’s the part where they shut your site down completely (cuz the net is “neutral” now, you know) when you refuse to post the link(s).
Don’t forget the fines and jail time...the no-fly list...a visit by their goons...etc.
Sunstein is SO well-spoken, isn’t he? Such a peaceful drone he has. I think I trust him.
NOT!
“Linked to opposing viewpoints” ~ how about this Cass (’cause you just know the puke’s going to track that ref back to your point, not mine) we link to whitehouse.com ~ yeah, that’s the ticket. GIRLS!
Nice find.
“Legal scholar” Cass Sunstein my @$#. This should utterly destroy any talk of appointing Sunstein to the bench.
Somebody should tell him we already do that, with the DUmmie FUnnies ;^)
Classic economics says that the "economic man" makes choices based upon what's good for him and that's even better for the whole. (Assuming our social contract is honored / enforced.)
Nowadays all too often the choices confuse today's poor dumb economic man and he makes too many bad choices, like spending too much time at Free Republic or with Rush.
That's where our superior citizens enter to save us dummies and to save our democracy.
Our superior ones are in charge of "choice architecture." We will have available to choose from only that which is good. Our superior ones care greatly for us and will even nudge us to make the right choice. Thus, no need for force.
Sunstein's recent book is called Nudge.
It's still our choice! but it's with our superiors' help: libertarian paternalism.
