Democratic US Senate candidate Martha Coakley today highlighted her differences with her opponent, Republican Scott Brown, on health insurance reform by saying that Brown does not pay for health insurance for his campaign workers, while she does.
We already knew that Scott Brown didnt want to make health insurance more affordable for Massachusetts families and businesses. Now we learn that he wont even make health insurance available for his own staff. If he wont stand up for the people he employs, how could we ever trust him to stand up for us?" Coakley said in a statement.
"I don't have any idea what she's talking about, " Brown said as he headed back to his bus after a campaign appearance this morning. "And if she has any questions about any issues affecting the campaign, they can speak to our legal team and address it."
Felix Browne, a Brown campaign spokesman, said later in a statement, "This is a silly issue. The small group working on the Scott Brown campaign either has existing insurance or were compensated sufficiently to purchase it on their own...."
Robert Haynes, president of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO delivered a stemwinder, telling the union members, "We have a fight on our hands. There's nothing less than the future of the labor movement at stake in this election."

Doesn’t Massachusetts give healthcare to all?
No Martha, the taxpayers do.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find only things evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelogus
You notice she didn’t say they didn’t have health insurance, instead, she makes the issue that someone else didn’t buy it for them.
What a... ok, I can’t say it, I’ll get zotted.
Brown is going to need by a large margin to cancel out the Dem shenanigans.
The DNC, SEIU, and others aren’t going to let go of a cash cow that easily.
Expect recounts and lawsuits no matter how much Brown wins by.
The Dems stole a few elections already and almost stole the 2000 Presidential election.
They are crooks and thieves and should be treated as such.
Oh noes! This is hugh and series!
(Someone had to say it.)
Is THIS her last minute ace in the hole? What a let down.
Maybe if he had as many interest groups funding his campaign as you do, he could afford to.
Don’t you think that she wishes for the good ol’ days when you could just accuse your opponent of being a Communist was enough? Now she would have to illustrate that she was not a Communist before being able to accuse anyone else.
At a later event in downtown Boston, she was greeted enthusiastically by Service Employees International Union members at their headquarters, who stood and applauded, chanting in Spanish, "Si Se Puede," ("Yes, we can"). Some listened to her remarks through translation devices.
Scott Brown's supporters:
At his first campaign event today, in Quincy, Brown was greeted by an excited crowd of about 500 people. Detail police officers clapped him on his back, and the crowd included elderly women and people who described themselves as Democrats.
But now Croakley can coast to victory on the Brown-Doesn't-Buy-Insurance-For-Part-Timers-When-The-State-Of-Massachussettes-Provides-It-Anyways Issue!
Whew! Close one!
Brown’s workers probably have jobs with bennies and her workers are probably welfare rats.
Does Coakley buy insurance for people that walk her dogs? Does she have insurance for her dogs?
No. you are forced to buy insurance or pay penalties.
Pretty much what the ill-intentioned Obamacare mandates.
Or the good old days when you could accuse them of being a closet butt pirate. Nowadays that perverted hobby can actually get people to vote FOR you.
“(Someone had to say it.)”
Not really.
“(Someone had to say it.)”
Not really.
Calling someone a Communist Anarchist Anti-God Child-porn-advocate Donut-Puncher is enough to guarentee a Democrat Senate nomination these days.
