Democrats Fret That the Public Is Dissatisfied

BOSTON — There may be no better place to measure the shifting fortunes of President Obama and the Democratic Party than in the race being fought here this weekend for the Senate seat that had been held by Edward M. Kennedy.

When Mr. Obama was inaugurated one year ago this week, he and his party had big majorities in the Senate and House, enjoyed the backing of much of the country and were confidently preparing to enact an ambitious legislative agenda. Republicans seemed directionless and the conservative movement exhausted.

This weekend, Democrats are struggling to hang on to a seat held by Mr. Kennedy for 46 years in one of the most enthusiastically Democratic states in the country. Conservatives are enjoying a grass-roots resurgence, and Republicans are talking about taking back the House in November.

Here's what the DemonRATs are sending out to raise money...

I just got up to Martha Coakley's campaign HQ to help her win Tuesday's crucial special election. I have to tell you -- this isn't like anything Massachusetts has ever seen.

It's happening right after the holidays, so a lot of people haven't even heard about it. Meanwhile, the same guys behind the Swift Boat ads are taking over the airwaves to distort Martha's record, and the same far-right tea-party crowd that's attacking President Obama is funding her opponent.

The stakes in this race are incredibly high. If we don't hold this seat, a right-wing Republican will hold Sen. Ted Kennedy's old seat until at least 2012 -- and we'll lose a crucial vote in the Senate for health reform and the agenda we fought so hard for last year.

That's why we're going all out in Massachusetts with a massive effort to lock up a Democratic victory. But we can only afford to keep this battle up against the far right through Election Day if folks like you chip in.

Please donate $5 or more to help us make Martha Coakley the next senator from Massachusetts.

Democratic ads are highlighting the key differences between Martha, a long-time public servant and one of the nation's best attorneys general, and her extreme Republican opponent who would walk in lockstep with Mitch McConnell and national GOP power brokers.

And our organizers are engaging volunteers by the thousands to make sure Obama voters make it back to the polls.

But we need your help to keep it going. Please donate $5 or more to the Democratic Party to support our work, including our efforts to elect Martha Coakley:

Let's win this,

Hari

Hari Sevugan
Press Secretary
Democratic National Committee

Perhaps the reality of what they saw at the town hall meetings last summer is finally sinking in.

the only thing the DIM-oc-RATS “fret” about is whether or not they will lose their power. i often fret that they won’t.

Senator Evan Bayh, Democrat of Indiana, said the atmosphere was a serious threat to Democrats. “I do think there’s a chance that Congressional elites mistook their mandate,” Mr. Bayh said. “I don’t think the American people last year voted for higher taxes, higher deficits and a more intrusive government. But there’s a perception that that is what they are getting.”

Dissatisfied? The public is just dissatisfied? How about angry almost to the point of taking up arms in open revolt?

I doubt the real level of dissatisfaction will be apparent to the demoidiots until the election in November.

If DumBO had taken the Republican House health care bill and run with it, he would be sitting at 80%. Instead he let the Fascicrats trot out every left-wing wet dream they could come up with, because, he had no plan. He and they deserve every damning thing they get. We are saddled with the most worthless government this side of Zimbabwe and moving up fast.

Does anybody know if Brown’s team has enough money for the ad time they need?

I already have contributed, but I’ll dig deeper if I have to. This may be our best hope for a long time.

The mojo is with Brown. He will win and he will win big and the Democrats will be faced with a political earthquake. The aftershocks will shatter what's left of the Obama agenda.

ROFLMAO..ya’ think...Blue Dogs better get a clue..

Evan will be back in line after Obama & Harry have scratched his belly and rubbed his ears. That's what the Blue Dogs have always been, and will always be: lapdogs for the libs they put in charge.

"Moderate Democrat" and "fair minded Democrat" are both oxymorons.

Methinks the Blue Dogs are getting nervous, especially after the way Nebraskans have been treating Ben over the past few weeks.

Politically, Obama and all the vile things he stands for are about to be crushed like an empty soda can on a sidewalk. He's going to need some cuddling and reassurance after Tuesday.

Is it too early for the Marxist scumbags in Oslo to award him the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize for his mindless musings about Haiti?

How do you spell LAUGHING OUT LOUD. This from Evan Bayh who has supported all of Obama's Crazy Spending Sprees.

From the article:

Senator Evan Bayh, Democrat of Indiana, said the atmosphere was a serious threat to Democrats. “I do think there’s a chance that Congressional elites mistook their mandate,” Mr. Bayh said. “I don’t think the American people last year voted for higher taxes, higher deficits and a more intrusive government.
