Team Obama Keeps Pushing to Take Over the Internet

If our government does end up in control of the Internet, they could potentially restrict it as a medium of dissent, blocking the ability to communicate, educate, and organize.

Glenn Beck and I exposed how radical White House Internet czar Susan Crawford was in 2009 and she resigned. Unfortunately, in 2010 her former colleagues appear undaunted in their efforts to take over the Internet. Despite the fact that the Federal Communications Commission’s claims to have jurisdiction in this area were revealed to be extremely flimsy just last week, the FCC is moving ahead with proposed "Open Internet" rules, which would give federal regulators vast new powers.

"Open Internet" is the left's latest marketing language for what they used to call "net neutrality." It sounds simple: force phone and cable companies to treat every bit of information the same way. Great, until you realize that modern networks are incredibly complex, with millions of lines of code in every router. Making sure services like VoIP, video conferencing, and telemedicine (not to mention the next great thing that hasn't been invented yet) get priority may be necessary to make the Internet work, but the government is considering regulations that will make it illegal to prioritize traffic.

These networks cost billions of dollars to build and maintain, and if there is uncertainty about getting a good return on that investment, private investment will dry up. And then government will step in, spending billions of our tax dollars on a government-owned and controlled Internet. It’s already started, with $7.2 billion in “broadband stimulus” in last year’s bloated stimulus bill that the FCC considers a down payment on much bigger infusions of taxpayer dollars, which tend to come with strings of government control attached.(continued)

Keep in mind that they are ones to exploit any crisis, and it would not be unimaginable that they would orchestrate one or more crises in order to exploit them.

Like Cloward-Piven. When I see that schmuck Andy Stern's smirk arrogance on the screen, I want to punch him right in his face!!!

The sixties hippies and rebels (Socialists) are now occupying our educational institutions and have a free pass to brainwash “brains full of mush.” Even an underground bomber is there!!!

That is exactly why they want control of the internet.

That's their goal. Keep us dumb and uneducated just like a third world country and then feed us the line about it being for our own good.

It’s disgusting. They’re taking full advantage of it.

If we can stave off this hard-left blitz then we have a chance at a decent recovery, after this generation (the ‘flower children’/communists/useful idiots) reaches feebleness.

Obama and his socialists are like typical bullies, they appear to be strong and they take advantage of the weak but once someone stands up to them they back down and run away.

ITA. This admin is so high school-ish. They're Hussein the quarterback (not that he's ever made a single touchdown) and Nan the witchy cheerleader and all their little BFFs who think they're so high and mighty and running the school. What's funny is, just like in high school, most students/voters know the glory hounds only hold what power we allow them, not the other way around. In a few short years they will become virtual unknowns once again.
