The people need help, not looters and not whiners who are afraid to criticize looting.

Perhaps then it would help if someone would define what a LOOTER is, and whether the severity of the situation justifies 'grabbing what you can'.

After all, what are their choices? Can they even take their 'loot' and go home? What homes?

Does anyone here in the US understand what a 7.0 followed by 30 or more aftershocks is even like?

Where are the grocery stores that they can go buy some food at?

We know that 'help' is on the way, do they?

How long will it be before everyone gets supplies of food and water from 'rescuers'?

If you were in their shoes, would you just wait (and die)?

Would some reporter sitting at a desk in LA use a little hype to help sell more newspapers?

I am not whining about security forces arresting those who are looting (for no cause other than profit).

However, as bad as it seems to be, any 'store' that has food or water should be letting people take all they can. Or is the profit of the merchants more important than the lives of the injured and starving?

That’s all fine and dandy theory. It was reported yesterday that people were taking electronics along with the food and water.

I cannot criticize your post. You and I do not know the circumstances this photo captures.

The caption stands.

If I were there, I would never call someone trying to get food, water, shelter, toilet paper, diapers, medicine, etc... a looter. Somebody taking watches or TVs, they are looting.

Perhaps then it would help if someone would define what a LOOTER is...

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need"?

Cordially,
