How can we trust these figures? I want to know what other nations are sending aid? There must be some but all the TV talks about is the USA.

First reports had China, France, and Canada sending material and people. I believe this was for search and rescue (dogs, infrared, etc.) and not food or clothing. And if Fox was correct, China was on the ground less than 24 hours after the quake.

I’m sure it will be several days, if not weeks, before it is known what is needed from the world community (hate that term) and the best way to put it into action.

Reports from the airport early on showed planes from all over on the ramps.

The real problem is going to be trying to organize an adhoc effort. That was a major problem at Katrina as well. People loaded up trailer loads of stuff that basically rotted in the fields where it was dumped. Then they get pissed when told their effort was wasted.
