Because THAT happens all the time.....the old local drunkards, in Alaska and the rest of the US, are just known for throwing "sealed bombs" around on the 4th of July.

They then proceeded, with much military efficiency and not much fanfare, to blow the shit out of the thing at the Salonie Creek Rifle Range around 5 p.m. Wednesday, closing the Chiniak Highway for an hour and making a big-ass boom, heard even in town.

LOL! Fusing is the last stage when loading weapons on aircraft, frankly running a car into it probably would not have detonated, although it depends on the state of the explosives used. When I was doing weapons loadouts, we used tritonal as the filler, it was no big deal to see them dropped, other than REALLY POing the load officer.
