Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Louisiana on Friday to highlight the White House's efforts to help the Gulf Coast recover from hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.
Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. Mary Landrieu and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin are expected to join Biden at a recreation center in New Orleans' Gentilly neighborhood. Also on Friday, Biden's wife, Jill, is scheduled to tour Delgado Community College in New Orleans.

Can’t wait to hear Bobby Jindal’s remarks.
Whats the differnce between New Orleans, Haiti and Detroit. Two are above sea level.
I am not known for my good taste...
..their keeping Biden a distant gaff away
Well, on a factual basis, they are similar. Both were completely natural disasters that happened in impoverished areas. Both were difficult getting aid to survivors. Both became critical, desperate areas and both will require years to rebuild. It’s just that the scumbag Democrats blamed President Bush for Katrina, and for every bad thing that happened from Katrina, and no one seems to be blaming President Obama for the earthquake in Haiti.
Obama isn’t doing enough. Hasn’t visited yet. Obviously he doesn’t care about black people.
Unfortunately for the Haitian people, next week Obama and Biden will be screaming that it’s Bush’s fault that there is utter chaos and anarchy in Haiti. And then they will announce that the U.N. will hold hearings about the situation in Haiti.
I love how they ship him off to unimportant ports of a call, to make inane comments to an awe-inspiring dearth of media coverage.
He'll be appearing on a local access cable channel, while the rest of the world watches news from Haiti and DC.
There are a lot of darker skin negroes in Haiti ....but there are lots of lighter skins there too..... hard decisions < /sarc >
I am so sick of the word Katrina. It has become a sick joke. If those folks haven’t gotten it together yet, they never will..
New Orleans is 1100 miles away from Washington, DC.......Haiti is 1100 miles away from Washington DC
Katrina: A timeline -- proof the Federal response was NOT SLOW
BTW, last time I checked folks had advance notice when it comes to getting out of the way of hurricanes.
They should ask Gov Blanco why she blocked the National Guard from entering the state for all those hours.
Katrina and New Orleans, Haiti and the earthquake are so un-alike as to be apples and oranges. How many died in Katrina? 50,000? I don’t think so. Katrina could have been solved with better levees but nothing could have prevented the quake in Haiti—Few cities in the 3rd world can stand up to a 7.0 quake—heck, few cities in the 1st and 2rd world could hold up under one of those—especially in a city that didn’t have a quake in 200 years.
More and more it is evident that the USA must take over, at least for a time, Haiti and re-build her and provide decent law and order and government—some honest elections etc... I would suggest naming Bill Clinton Governor-General of the Haitian nation— to serve at least a year.

The main difference between Haiti and New Orleans is that the people of Haiti can’t help themselves. The people of New Orleans can, but won’t help themselves. Most of them are on welfare and expect the government to do all the work. The people of Haiti had nothing to begin with and are totally beaten down now. The most our government should do is bring them back to where they were before the earthquake.
Hmmm...maybe 1100 miles is the maximum range of Karl Rove’s machine. But how did the rats get ahold of it?
