Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh and televangelist Pat Robertson are being scolded for their comments in the immediate aftermath of an earthquake in Haiti that has killed tens of thousands, according to early estimates.
Critics from both the left and right are denouncing their remarks as insensitive to the disaster and attempts to score political points off human tragedy....
Limbaughs comments have been widely panned.
"They are deeply insensitive," said conservative commentator Pat Buchanan on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
"The president speaks for the country when he says we're going to go in there, he said. You want your whole nation, and it's very positive. And I think Rush's comments were cynical."
Sitting next to Buchanan on set, host Joe Scarborough called Limbaugh's comments deplorable"
"The insensitivity is stunning," said the former Republican congressman....

I see you're as much of a dumba** as Pat, stevie-be-troll. Rush did not say 'Do not donate', he just said be wary about donating through the whitehouse.gov links.
But true to form, you just love to jump on MSM propaganda that bashes conservatives.
Politico lies again. Rush never said to not donate; only to do so through charities not run by the government.
Liberals are vile, hateful, nasty people. GO RUSH!
Robertson blames the devil, Danny Glover blames global warming.
Liberals only hear what they want to hear...Rush made a great point about where you should donate our money. Olberman gets a 4 people viewing audience and he’s quoted??? Buchanan was the liberals enemy in the 90s, now they quote him? Joe....well, he ain’t no Republican.
Pat will deny that this earthquake event even took place about 4 years from now..

Liberal’s BS or Katrina II redo and a MSM diversion to cover their Fuhrer’s destruction of our country. Nothing is more important than the war in Massachusetts being waged by Scott Brown for our survival as a free nation. Priority is stopping the Liberal voter fraud that is being plotted and to be carried out Tuesday. Obama, Pelosi, Reid et al. want to determine whether you live or die via their rationed health care and death panels; nothing, absolutely nothing is more important than defeating these enemies of We The People. They want to destroy our economy, destroy our security, and dismantle our Constitution.

Absolutely nothing these Fascists have to say about anyone matters. Scott Brown defeating the enemies of America is our priority. No diversions! Absolutely no diversions.
I would listen to Robertson over Gore or any of his deciles like Glover. I will bet that Pat Robertson and his Hospital Airliner “Operation Blessing” will do more to help the Haitian more than anyone!
I would like to encourage FReepers to donate to the US govt, or the Clinton group, to help out Haiti, but I both don’t want the money wasted, or to get banned. There are groups that will not charge a handling fee for your charity gifts. Clinton or the govt are not two of those.
Reid states the obvious and he is defended by his own party.
I have all the confidence in the world that the American public is becoming rapidly disillusioned with Obama and the vision of “Change” he, Oprah Winfrey and George Soros have for America.
But in many cases, the reactions of the GOP to what is going on demonstrate once again, that the GOP leadership and too many of its spokesmen are really too stupid to take advantage of Obama’s problems.
Either the Tea Party People take over the GOP, or they must start a new party.
John Boenher and Mitch McConnell in charge of Congress is an improvement over Pelosi and Reid - sort of. But their continuing incompetence and lack of political backbone will hurt the GOP in the long run, just as did McCain and George Bush I and II.
You’re right on, as usual, ExTexasRedhead!
Rush never said anything of the sort. He was making a joke when he said Obama was doing this to boost credibility with lightskinned and darkskinned African-Americans.
How could that not be a joke?
Again, IMHO, you/Politico are quoting Huffington, etc., like the lady that called yesterday, without hearing the whole conversation. Rush, again, has played the State Run Media and libs like a Stradivarius!
“They are deeply insensitive,” said conservative commentator Pat Buchanan on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
Says Mr sensitivity,,,
I saw or heard (I don't recall which) an interview of Mayor Nagin.
Mayor Nagin said that President Bush asked the Governor of Louisiana if she wanted the federal troops to be sent into her state. The Governor's answer was that she would get back to President Bush on that.
What's to think about?
Clearly, this is all on the Governor of Louisiana's shoulders.
I wonder how much money Fat Cat Rush will donate?
