.."Riding a wave of opposition to Democratic health-care reform, GOP upstart Scott Brown is leading in the U.S. Senate race, raising the odds of a historic upset that would reverberate all the way to the White House, a new poll shows.
Although Browns 4-point lead over Democrat Martha Coakley is within the Suffolk University/7News surveys margin of error, the underdogs position at the top of the results stunned even pollster David Paleologos.
Its a Brown-out, said Paleologos, director of Suffolks Political Research Center. Its a massive change in the political landscape.
The poll shows Brown, a state senator from Wrentham, besting Coakley, the states attorney general, by 50 percent to 46 percent, the first major survey to show Brown in the lead. Unenrolled long-shot Joseph L. Kennedy, an information technology executive with no relation to the famous family, gets 3 percent of the vote. Only 1 percent of voters were undecided.
Paleologos said bellweather models show high numbers of independent voters turning out on election day, which benefits Brown, who has 65 percent of that bloc compared to Coakleys 30 percent. Kennedy earns just 3 percent of the independent vote, and 1 percent are undecided.
Given the 4.4-point margin of error, the poll shows Coakley could win the race, Paleologos said. But if Browns momentum holds, he is poised to succeed the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy - and to halt health-care reform, the issue the late senator dubbed the cause of my life....

I think people are finally seeing the repulsive arrogant traitorous behaviors of Frank, the way out of touch aged-hippie-gigilo-silly Senator Kerry, and as for Deval Patrick....
well, we should start again exposing his early years with the Rev Jesse Jackson just to prime the pump for his re-election campaign next fall.... personally, I think he is going to run to DC for a cushy czar job (DRAPES Czar?) and take a pass on the re-run.
woo-hoo! I hope it holds and he makes it... :-)
I am not voting for Scott, I am voting for FReepers who can’t and want to use my registration. :P
wow! What a shot in the arm this would be for every Republican candidate in America. It is actually fitting that it’s all happening in Boston...Now...let’s hope the next four days brings no huge surprises!
What’s the weather forecast for Tuesday?
we need to petition the 2 “Senators” to save face for the Obama administration and demand that the HC vote be held up until the people of Massachsuetts have their newly elected senator in place. That is only fair, whoever wins.
Kerry and Kirk should GRAB this opportunity to ‘look noble’.
Hopefully, Kerry will see the handwriting on the wall and drift away...otherwise we will have to wait til 2014?
I DON”T think you’re nuts - BELIEVE!

He’s the Yank many don’t see nationwide - you know the type after a snowstorm, etc - He’s there! We’re doing this on the 19th and then we’re going after Barney!
I think SB wins 51% to Coakley 46% and to Kennedy 3%
Obama said literally nothing about creating more jobs. This one is over, short of massive fraud.

The weather -

fair by NE standards.
A lot of Republicans have already voted - absentee ballots are way way up in conservative areas of the state and way way down in liberal areas.

I’m thinking Brown 55%.
Will I see you in Quincy Sat AM?
Jeez, in that Suffolk poll, Brown is up by 4% despite the sample apparently leaning liberal (giving Deval Patrick a 41% positive rating instead of in the 30s). And Brown’s positive/negative rating continues to amaze.
WOW 55%!
I will be in the Worcester office on Saturday.
Have fun in Quincy, FRiend!

Poll shocker: Scott Brown surges ahead in Senate race
Good news and good night all.
Scott is the best candidate the Republicans have produced in a long time in Massachusetts. Has his military duty kept him from running in previous races?
He turned David Rodham Gergen’s question back on him, he’s an Iraq/Afghanistan War Vet, he’s energetic, he’s smart, he speaks with authority.
He has run an excellent campaign, but all that being said he couldn’t count on the RNC or the NRSC for anything. Talk radio and the grassroots should get the credit if he pulls this thing out.
I just hope we don’t have a Dino Rossi/Al Franken redo with him up by a few hundred votes out of 1.5 to 2 million votes.
I think the polls could be tough because turnout will probably be higher than they expect. Scott must use his funds to not only run ads but get people to the polls, have people to be at the polls as republican officials, and have lawyers ready to
I would be checking the recount laws thouroughly NOW. Pray he wins by a big enough margin to avoid that.
"...a greasy fascist who drives a shitty old truck."
Ah, the people-loving liberals!
(Man, they NEVER tire of the "f" word!")
