Iowa GOP candidates raising huge amounts of money from in-state contributors

Many Iowans are fed up with Governor Chet Culver and other Democrat elected officials. The polls prove it, and so do the fundraising numbers. Republican challengers are raising massive sums of money from in-state contributors. While Democrats are sure to get plenty of support from out-of-state PACs, Iowa Republicans are overwhelmingly being funded by in-state, individual contributors...

Branstad has 3,000 individual donors, Culver only 1,000.

Branstad raised $1.5 million in two months. Culver got $2.1 million all of last year.

That’s very significant. It shows the statewide support is much stronger for Branstad than Culver.

Iowa conservatives are angry over court imposed gay marriage. They want to help the GOP takeover the Governorship and legislature to put a voter referendum to ban gay marriage in 2012.

And hopefully get rid of the Cash for Clunkers Braley at the same time. He’s running around the district proclaiming his “contributions” to this domestic fiscal mess as if he were the next coming of Christ. Another in the tank lawyer for the Dems.
