Yeah, the _resident just announced that we’re going to send Haiti more than 100 million dollars for relief. He’s awful free with money we just don’t have anymore.

Why don't we just give them a fishing fleet so they can catch their food?

Given Haitian government corruption, that ought to be good for about $10 million of actual aid getting to the people.
To: Red Badger
Yep I agree. Many of Haitians already live in the U.S. And it’s clear that there’s no way that Haiti can do the reconstruction on their own. So we should go ahead and formally conquer the country. Although this would be the first in history as a “conquest by earthquake”.

Better make that 5 million getting to the people. The UN practically runs the place now.

No let’s not. Florida almost has done that. Haiti will not become more like America but America will become more like a toilet like Haiti.
The lady who was at the W Ft. Laud rally during the elections who said “Obama is gonna pay my mortgage and put gas in my car” was a Haitian-American named Peggy Joseph.

Finally, someone else who noticed the same thing.
I suggest the Dominica Republic is just fine.
I’ve long been fascinated by the fact that Haiti is always in trouble, yet the Dominican Republic goes on its merry way.

I was just thinking that ordinarily, I would never send any money to Haiti. They are the perfect example of repeating the same behavior and expecting a different outcome. Billions of dollars later they are still the same old rathole, what we have been doing hasn’t worked, SO STOP IT!
