In the nightmare of Haiti, Americans were first to respond just as Americans have always responded, recession-bound or not.
This is the giving spirit of America in action. Not waiting for anyone else, just doing what is necessary to help, without boasts, without expecting anything back. Simply America.
America has always been there for others and always will be.
Even a falling-in-the-polls President Obama whose conduct since election has been to belittle the spirit of America and its people is cashing in today on that generosity, promising to a shocked and grief stricken people his unwavering support and a swift and coordinated effort.
Beleaguered Americans losing their homes and jobs will rush in to help Haitians with food, temporary shelters; emergency service of every kind.
The American military, a welcome sight the world over even though politicians try to state otherwise, will be there for the people beginning with rescue and recovery efforts, remaining to build water purification facilities, repairing infrastructure and rebuilding.
In consideration of how America rushes to the side of the worlds most disadvantaged nations when hit by sudden disaster, it is difficult to comprehend how its leader can spread a message worldwide about an America so bad it needs overhauling.

Because most of us have even lighter skin and he hates us.
Obama’s response to this helps to prove one thing. Had that plane blown up on Christmas day, Obama would have gotten all the body parts picked up with a swift and coordinated effort.
He is just speaking for himself, thats all.
For those who are Amateur Radio Operators, the Salavation Army Team Emergency Radio Network (SATERN) is up and running on 14.265 Mhz. (Upper Sideband) and 3977.7 Khz. (Lower Sideband) at night. Very little traffic has been heard on these frequencies so far but the Amateur Radio Operators on Haiti are few and far between and don’t have access to generators for emergency power.
Why is Obama bowing to everyone and telling them we suck?
____________________________________________________________
Because Obama is so desperate to be popular, he bows to peer pressure. He thinks it makes him cool. Prob’ly how he started that smoking habit, too. He’s weak.
LOL
Ooooh that’s rough
Yes, he’s a wuss.
The dastardly Americans helped people of color, muslims in Indonesia.
Now the dastarly americans will help people of color in Haiti.
Obama should shout this out, loud and clear, in our favor.
And ask: Where are all the other rich nations? Especially the muslim nations?
Obammy is like any lib....Mark my words....Libs will hold Obammy up as the savior of Haiti...no matter what he does.
“Obama should shout this out, loud and clear, in our favor.”
From what I understand he plans on doing that just as soon as hell freezes over.
Because Obowma is a lying, pussy Kenyan who reads a teleprompter. His teleprompter is smarter than he is...
Seeing as how liberals are all godless liars that is exactly what will happen. You can count on it.
BTTT
America rocks.
We will help you when you need helping.
We will knock you when you need knocking.
The question that begs:
What will Obama do to keep from wasting this crisis?
Because he sucks.
“No No No No! Not God Bless America. God damn America.”
Rev. Wright
Obama’s minister of twenty years
Sad but true. That is, without a doubt, Obama’s spiritual state.
God damn Rev. Wright. God bless America.
The stories coming out of Haiti after this earthquake are buggin’ me. They don’t have cranes, heavy equipment etc to help rescue those suffering. Why?
“The U.N.’s Haitian mission spread across the country includes 7,000 peacekeeping troops, 2,000 international police, 490 international civilian staffers, 1,200 local civilian staffers and 200 U.N. volunteers, he said. The force was brought in after a bloody 2004 rebellion following decades of violence and poverty in the nation.”
The UN has been in Haiti since 2004 and there’s this...
JSG and the 18th Caribbean Geological Conference
March 24-28, 2008
Historical earthquakes indicate that the last major ruptures of the fault occurred in an east to west time-space progression that began in 1751 in south-central Hispaniola and perhaps culminated in the Kingston , Jamaica , event in 1907. Recorded seismicity over the past 40 years is sparse as expected from a fully locked fault plane.
GPS-constrained block models with elastic strain accumulation give ~8 mm/year of slip rate on the fault. Since the last major event in south-central Dominican Republic was in 1751, that yields ~2 meters of accumulated strain deficit, or a Mw=7.2 earthquake if all is released in a single event today.
The two largest cities within 30 km of the fault zone are Port-au-Prince , Haiti , and Kingston , Jamaica , with a combined population of 3.65 million inhabitants.
Such studies should be considered high priority in Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic given the seismic hazards posed by the fault.

Anyhow, how useless is the UN— that they didn’t get equipment into Haiti- able to handle natural disasters, PRIOR to a disaster? Haiti suffers from hurricanes often and then there was this conference. What more did they need to know, in order to prepare Haiti for a disaster. The UN is a failure at EVERYTHING! Get rid of the useless creeps already!
No No No No! Not God Bless America. God damn America.
That is exactly the magic one’s mindset.
Good points. The UN has proven itself to be impotent and worthless time and time again.
I wonder how much aid will be sent to Haiti by those socialist paradises Cuba, Venezuela, and Bolivia?
After all, they've been practicing Obama's "social justice" for some years now. They should have an abundance of resources to provide to the Haitians.
