"CPAC is my kind of people...I'm truly honored and flattered to be able to speak at CPAC as their keynote speaker on February 20th" -- Glenn Beck, 1/13/10
Glenn Beck will be Closing Keynote Speaker at CPAC 2010!
Glenn Beck is the Keynote Speaker at CPAC 2010 (YouTube video runs 2:41 minutes)
Also...
he's probably the illegitimate son of Malcolm X
Thanks, FRiend. :o)
amen
yes
Thanks, FRiend. You've been to CPAC fairly recently... it's not a RINO lovefest by any means. And a couple of questionable sponsors isn't going to taint the entire conference for my husband and me nor for thousands of others.
Yep, apparently so, after reading many of the comments here and on numerous other CPAC-bashing threads. ;-)
I have never been to a dog fight or helped perform an abortion so I guess I must be wrong for hating them?
I've never been to a dog fight or helped perform an abortion either, but if I went to these "events" and reported back to you what exactly went on, you'd have more knowledge and a better understanding of what really happened at these events, wouldn't you?
I thought we were boycotting it?
Or Frank Marshall Davis.
"FReeping" is a term limited to conservative votes or feedback - not RINO.
OK, I'll put it another way. The CPAC straw poll is a joke. They ask you to vote before you've even heard the speakers. Most attendees are much too busy with all of the speakers, panels, book signings, educational side sessions, etc. going on to be bothered filling out the long straw poll form.
All 7 years I've attended CPAC I see the same thing: College kids who are passionate about a particular candidate or issue vote over and over again and stuff those "scientific" cardboard ballot boxes with their paper straw poll forms. (Yes, some of these kids love Romney and other RINOs, but many can't stand RINOs just as much as we do here on FR.)
The last hour or so of CPAC on Saturday the guy that does the straw poll reads the results with great fanfare and everyone is always surprised at the results because the poll usually doesn't reflect how most attendees would vote. So the results are mostly the "votes" of a bunch of college kids having some fun. And this "all important straw poll" is always highly touted in the media as poll results for ALL CPAC attendees. Which is a joke.
Who is "we"? I'm not boycotting CPAC 2010. (See my posts on this thread)
That's good, and you can also watch some of the CPAC speeches on C-SPAN. But watching a few speeches is just the tip of the iceberg. CPAC is a 3-day conference chock-full of speakers, panel discussions, educational side sessions, book signings, exhibitors, live radio shows on "Radio Row" with conservative talk show hosts.
However, I had some doubts recently about the organization just from picking up some negative comments on a few threads. After your comment, I did a FR keyword search on CPAC and found there is lots of controversy at or just beneath the surface.
There is a lot of misinformation by people who have never attended CPAC who don't want to listen to those of us who have (I've gone to the last 7 CPACs). I've given my opinons all over this thread (and on other threads), but most don't care to listen to facts.
As I've said time and again, if I find that CPAC 2010 has indeed morphed into a full-blown RINO lovefest, then my CPAC days will be over.
I had hoped for an informative response to my question from someone with your lengthy experience with CPAC, but instead I was treated to more of the same useless rhetoric you responded with throughout the thread.
I’ll leave it there as I don’t believe you want to provide anything more than a political statement, and anymore persuit of the answers to my question with you would be useless.
Thanks for nothing.
Your Post 123: The D.C. Chapter pooled their pennies and put together a booth in 2005. Five years later, you want to call this year a boycott? LOL!
I proved your first premise incorrect and now you want to move the goalposts? It doesn't work that way.
What is relevant is CPAC's agenda NOW including Keene being exposed as a RINO financial supporter (including MYTH romney & his romneycare) and Keene's decision to invite co-sponsors JBS and a homosexual advocate group.
Why do you not have a problem sharing CPAC with RINOs and homos?
Glad to see Sarah Palin skipping your homofest!
A quick thought - perhaps you should change your name from "nutty" to "fruity"?
LOL. With friends like some people here, Palin doesn’t need Katie Couric.
When I went a few years ago, I met everybody. My son and I got to see Romney’s speech, Coulter’s speech, and many others. Not to mention the fact that my pal, Fr. John Putka, got 40 members of the UD contingent in for an HOUR to meet with Justice Clarence Thomas.
Gee I guess because FR is boycotting then anyone who is a member MUST stay home.....give me a break. I’ve attended 3 CPAC conferences and must say they are great. I am not a RINO and consider myself very conservative and don’t follow the edicts of the crowd here...talk about lemmings. Gee.
I agree with Nutmeg, most of the people bashing CPAC have never attended and are just echoing (lemming)FR boycott.
I’m not happy about the JB society co sponsoring but I don’t plan on listening to any of their drivel.
I have never been to a Republican Convention either but strongly disagree with it being infested by Rinos. Does my nonattendance at conventions make my opinion of the RNC less valid? No.
This is the same way that liberal moonbat marxists have taken over the Democrat Party. They crept in.
Those who will not learn from history are bound to repeat. So you go and caress the camels nose. I'll sit back and laugh at your tagline. For it to be true, one first has to know what the fight is.
I guess by going to a convention of like minded people (the majority of those in attendence),that because there are some there that don’t agree with my stance on things, that makes me a RINO.
Gosh, I thought that there was a dialogue to be had at these things. You obviously don’t take the time to converse with anyone who doesn’t follow the FR theme. Very narrow minded and dangerous. If FR said who to vote for would you do it?
And I’m real curious if you ever attended one of these?
