The French establish profiling in airports - based on Israeli counterterrorism measures

French newspaper Le FIGARO announces today that profiling will be used in French airports.

The French authorities have approved security measures based on Israeli counter-terrorism modus operandi.

The slightest sign of nervosity could warn an agent, which will have the possibility to investigate suspects at any time and any place in the airport.

Israeli profiling has been of much interest for French authorities since the aborted plot of Flight 253 in Detroit last month.

Members of my own family hate profiling. They are so PC I can't have a conversation with them anymore. Something really awful would have to happen here before a good percentage of the population would accept profiling. We have been so conditioned to be tolerant of everyone, no matter what. A good percentage of the population believes we are the bad guys. That's how Zero got elected. Profiling is RACIST don't ya know.

By and large, the French really dislike all things Israeli. They aligned with the muslim world in a bid to maintain a high level of influence in that sphere and in doing so, they aligned against Israel. Of course, that has brought them thousands of burning cars, major cities with "no go zones", and all other sorts of misery, but the anti-Israel bias still runs deep.

To embrace anything which originated in Israel is a major step for them IMHO.

Personally I don't think that the "Israeli counter-terrorism modus operandi" would work here in America.
I've been to Israel twice and from what I understand, they use Young College Undergrads studying Psychology as Screeners. They have a love of Country which I'm ashamed to say might be hard to find in abundance in American Institutions of Higher Learning. JMHO

We must know WHAT KIND of profiling they are planning on doing. Even if the measures are based on Israeli standards, that doesn't mean that the subject of the profiling is going to be of the terrorist variety.

The muslims are in the process of taking France over by population and voting strength. The subject of their profiling can very well be what the subject is here in the States: anyone who is NOT muslim.

“While it’s true, most muslims aren’t terrorists, it IS true that most terrorists are muslims”.

Thanks, Civ.

I saw the former Chief of Security of El Al Israel’s airline , and he explained how thet are so successful.

They use bosy language experts, and extensive interviews with ALL prospective passengers.

If you have ever flown El Al , you know they have used thier grilling techniques for 40 years, but by the time they finish and you get on the plane, you feel confident that you are safe.

They were able to capture the Irish woman whose Arab BF gave her a “gift” to bring to his family back home. After quizzing her, they decided something wasn’t kosher, so to speak, and they took everything apart, including her luggage. She had no idea, but the “gift” contained 10 pounds of explosives that would have blown the plane to smithereens.

We have a lot to learn from El Al, the Mossad, etc, but we have to wait until we have someone with common sense, not a poseur in an empty ivy league suit in charge.

The French are tougher on terror than the UK. Always have been.

The French did not always hate all things Israeli. They supplied Israel with nuclear technology way back.

Now Sarkozy is part Jewish and his son married a Jewish woman.
