Mel Gibson, who endured one of the bigger Hollywood scandals of recent years, says the Tiger Woods affair has been blown way out of proportion but that it wouldn't do the golfer any good to whine about that now.
"I feel sorry for Tiger Woods," the actor-filmmaker, 54, tells Britain's Daily Mail. "Why are we talking about this when we're sending 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan?
He's being used as a diversion, and it just drives me crazy."
Having said that, Gibson, who stars in the upcoming film "Edge of Darkness," believes Woods has little to gain from complaining about the coverage of his alleged affairs.

He’s trying to hard.
I tend to agree that the woods thing has been blown waaaaaaay out of proportion but Mel Gibson talking about it won’t exactly make it go away.

Well, I WAS going to see his movie. Now, I’ll just wait for it to be on HBO. I’m no longer in any hurry.

I commend him for his production of “The Passion of the Christ”; I have never come away from a movie so affected... but he needs to rein it in.

tiger woods is a first-class pig. He was given a life most people would kill for, and he wasn't near man enough to handle it.
What a pitiful twirp.

‘The Edge of Darkness’, is that fitting or what...
Mel, bud, what is this, jump the shark squared?
I used to like you and now I just get a queasy feeling in the gut when your name comes up.
Tiger Woods did get F’d over, no doubt about it. And the guy who did it is staring back at him in he mirror every time he shaves.
As for Afghanistan, the idea is to get the Taliban and Al Qaeda folks under control. Got a problem with that?

Why I enjoy you as an actor, don’t give up the day job to stand on your soapbox and also take care of your own problems before taking on others.

I always thought that Tiger was a diversion for health care coverage. Mel could very well be right in that Tiger is being used as a diversion.

Yeah he does since he comes at the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts from the angle that they help Israel. Hence not a good thing from his twisted world view. Pat Buchanan has that same outlook.

He is trying to survive the consequences of his own actions by crawling on his belly toward the prevailing political views of film industry. What Gibson really needs is a string of hit movies.
