A major magnitude 7.3 quake hit the impoverished country of Haiti Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The epicentre of the quake, which was initially reported a magnitude 7.0 off the coast, was located inland, six miles (10 km) west of Carrefour, close to the capital Port-au-Prince and was only 20.5 miles (30 km) deep. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere....

CNN got it wrong...it’s the largest RECORDED/MEASURED (by instruments) earthquake in the region.

We've discovered, by much painstaking labor, that quakes are associated with faults, and mostly with plate boundaries. Supernatural explanations for their occurrence are no longer necessary.

We also have discovered, by much painstaking labor, that many explosions are associated with explosives and also artillery. Interestingly, they also are associated with persons with very real volition and decisive action.

This is just tragic. Those poor people, if there grinding poverty isn't enough :(

I think I heard that this was the largest earthquake ever recorded for that area.

Amen to that!!!! The first person to get word out, that I heard was a Missionary. He said he could hear people crying out for help in collapsed buildings. But, it’s dark there now and they have no help, no fire department, no 911. It’s just tragic. Prayers going up for everyone there.

Port Royal, now there was a bad one. The whole port sank 20 feet under water.
