Stupid Spending
Funk for Congress ^ | 01/12/09 | Dave Funk

As the US gross debt quickly moves towards $13 trillion the question must be asked – how much more can we handle? Most of you that are living from paycheck to paycheck are one crisis away from falling apart, whether that crisis is an unexpected broken water heater, a simple flat tire or something more unfortunate like a loved one’s funeral. The US Government isn’t even managing their budget well enough to live paycheck to paycheck. Our deficit is growing incredibly fast due to the stupid spending and the only difference is the government can just print more money and cheapen the dollar even more. As more and more dollars are printed your paycheck to paycheck living is harder and harder to balance.

Much like many Americans, the US government is one big disaster away from economic failure. Doug Mitchell of OperationRedState.com wrote this regarding the earthquake experienced in Northern California a couple of days ago:

“So what if the big one strikes San Francisco or Los Angeles? What bailouts are left to give? What ‘State of emergency and Federal aid’ is waiting for us? What if we get even a moderately destructive hurricane in the Gulf or the South continues to freeze due to the ‘Global warming instituted by George H.W. Bush’? There ARE NO BAILOUTS LEFT.

Our nation and its 50 states are living like that family who is one ‘Big failure away from total economic devastation’ with massive amounts of debt to go along with the new SUV, the boat, and new lawn tractor. So many people are one paycheck or one ‘Uh oh’ from complete collapse…and so is our nation.”

It’s true. We cannot handle more of this. The US Government is no longer “mismanaging” our currency; rather [...read more...]

Can you imagine what would happen if we did have another Katrina? Another successful 9/11-esque attack? We should start taking bets on how quickly the dollar would devalue as they printed more money. "Hello, get me Hasbro, I need another order of 5 trillion games of monopoly." - President Obama

Went to the link provided and the first thing I got hit with, was a intercept (prompt)script stalled download from the video link. This format (some of which comes from the RNCC they don’t know what the hell they’re doing) sucks !

Now why do I bring this up ?

Its because not every voter within Funk’s district has an updated system. The object is to reach as many as one can . Too many candidates forget this, its KISS (keep it simple stupid), The first page should be printer friendly, so they can print it up and stick in their window. Have the candidate’s logo which includes the state and their district they’re running in. A brief bio then a brief basic message why they are running not a paid by the word proclamation.

Then it is linked to the meaty pages which have all the pretty speeches and videos etc.

The ideas expressed in Funk’s piece are right on. But how do they relate to his district or areas within it ? He doesn’t even mention what district he’s in. I know Iowa has a small population but its not as small as Alaska or Montana. I think there’s more than 1 Congressional district in Iowa.

If you know the guy have him checkout http://www.theusmat.com/hime.htm
