That was an excellent introduction to the series. Thanks for posting.

Unfortunately, since Jefferson’s natural law concept at the time still countenanced slavery, it seems that a large % of the black population thinks that the entire Constitution itself is suspect.

I would submit that Constitution they may not like, none the less provided the corner stone for deliverance.

At our inception as a nation, we needed to unify in order to stand up to the British.

We either adopted a document that heralded all men’s rights and put off certain ‘corrections’ until later, or we would remain a colony of Britain for the long haul.

The angst the United States harbors today over slavery, never ceases to amaze me when you think of all the nations who took part in it. We are the only one I know of, that even gives it a second thought today.

And the most amazing thing today, is that slavery still exists, and you never hear a word about it.
