1850 is a long time ago. If you were to read the Bible literally you'd find a lot of "neutral" references to slavery aand slaughtering animals as payment to God and so on.

You may consider Mormonism to be a cult or whatever, but Mormons are conservative, law abiding citizens, with the probable exception of Harry Reid.

Not all of those quotes are from 1850. Some are from recent history and many of those doctrines are STILL believed by many of the members.

To say they “no longer believe that”, is to deny that several current members DO still believe that blacks carry the mark of Cain and were “less valiant in the Pre-existence”, both of which I was taught at BYU less than 20 years ago. It is still part of LDS lay theology.
