Boy, I dunno. I used to ride when I was young. That’s enough for me to empathize. Of course, I only occasionally encounter cyclists en masse. It does seem that one is required to go more slowly for a few moments, or even minutes. But to me it is an occasion for contemplation.
I am by no means immune from the impulses that lead to “road rage”. My daily commute is just a few miles and lasts a few minutes, but that doesn’t stop me from fuming over being held up by a slowpoke. I do, however, hear a still small voice that says, “Stop being an a**hole.”
Me, too. But when the spandex crew is riding three abreast, all that hate comes rushing back...

As a cyclist I don’t mind being delayed for 30 seconds to a minute while passing one or more fellow cyclists, but it chafes me to be stuck behind a obviously moronic or incompetent driver who is costing me the same amount of time. :-)
