MEXICO CITY — The body of 36-year-old Hugo Hernandez was left on the streets of Los Mochis in seven pieces as a chilling threat to members of the Juarez drug cartel. A note read: "Happy New Year, because this will be your last."
To drive home the point, the assailants skinned Hernandez's face and stitched it onto a soccer ball.
The gruesome find, confirmed Friday by Sinaloa state prosecutors, represents a new level of brutality in Mexico's drug war, in which torture and beheadings are almost daily occurrences.
Hernandez was taken to Sinaloa after being kidnapped Jan. 2 in neighboring Sonora state, in an area known for marijuana growing, said Martin Robles, a spokesman for Sinaloa prosecutors. The motive for his abduction was unclear.
His torso was found in a plastic container in one location; elsewhere another box contained his arms, legs and skull, Robles said. Hernandez's face, sewn onto a football, was left in a plastic bag near City Hall.

They are reverting. Where is Cortez when you need him? The annual Aztec festival of their god Xipe Totec was held on the spring equinox. Slaves or war captives were sacrificed to Xipe Totec by priests who cut their hearts out, then carefully flayed their bodies to produce a whole skin, which was then worn by the priests for the fertility ritual. This is one of the practices that most horrified the Spanish.
Has been done in Afghanistan more than once.

Abrogating NAFTA: Since NAFTA has passed, Mexico has grown poorer, sent more illegals into the USA...and the Drug Cartels have boomed. Supporters of NAFTA pretty much aid and abet the Drug Cartels.
Deport all Illegals: Not only it will help the American economy...it will get rid of all those in the cartels who take refuge, or, are hidden by illegals.
Execute cartel members in US prisons: Cartels do not want to do business in nations where criminals are executed...note that Mexico does not execute criminals....and the Drug cartels run rampant.

I have a feeling that most of the brutality occured while the victim was still alive rather then being killed first.....it sends chills down my spine.
But Native Americans never wore their opponent's faces, nor did they stitch them to a soccer ball. I think something really weird happens when you get south of the Rio Grand.
