Michael Mann switched from physics to climate science back in graduate school because he thought climate offered a better chance to work "on a frontier."
He got his wish, and now, as the director of Pennsylvania State University's Earth System Science Center, he has experienced an aspect of frontier life more like the Wild West - a bounty on his head

That’s a pretty sycophantic report from the Philly Inquirer.

Michael Mann switched from physics to climate science back in graduate school because he thought climate offered a better chance to work "on a frontier." physics was too hard for him.

You beat me to it. He wanted to go into a place where peer review meant as much as Obama’s “law” degree from santa Harvard...
He’s a clown.

I’ll give him credit for one thing, physics is a hell of a lot harder than just being a con man participating in the largest hoax ever created.

Lousy misleading article. Lousy misleading science. Mann is a fraud. He wasn’t unbiased or scientifically neutral. He was a vociferous cheerleader (with al gore) of the fraud. There’s no proof the emails were hacked either. They were likely leaked to prevent an economic catastrophe at Copenhagen.

Michael Mann is a junk scientist, plain and simple.
It might surprise some that there are many more lousy scientists out there than good ones. So it never surprised me one bit that many of these lousy scientists fell for the anthropogenic global warming nonsense. The public cannot get a grasp on the concept that science doesn't proceed on consensus.

The one thing on Michael Mann’s mind was something no academician
will ever publically admit to:
“Cha-Ching!!! and tenure at any cost!”

physics was too hard for him.YUP.....
.....Physics requires using hard equations.
....."Climate Science" involves field trips with easy chicks and trending data.
He probably passed the part "hitting easy chicks" part but failed the data trending part because he manipulated the trends and destroyed the original data.

There are many factual errors in this article.
Like Mann using Phil Jones h-index 52-62. There was no typo. The emails are clear that Mann intended to use what he knew was an incorrect h-index.
Wegman’s report did not exonerate Mann. The report said the hockey stick was “obscure and incomplete” and “could not be supported by the analysis” and that there needed to be “more intense scruntiny and review” of this kind of work and that McIntyre’s criticism of it was “valid and compelling.”
This article is another whitewash trying to drum up sympathy for Mann (using factually incorrect information once again which is par for the course with this group).
To: McGarrett
There is still much debate over how big a role human activity plays in the current warming trend, and how the future will be affected. In the same department as: "Flim Flam peeing in the ocean has caused global flood"
