Why Antarctica Isn't Melting Much -- Yet
Scientists Explain Complex Climate Patterns

Antarctica is warming, but not melting anything like as much as expected. In fact, during the continent's summer this time last year, there was less melting than at any time in the 30 years that we have had reliable satellite measurements of the region.
A look at the effects of global warming in Antarctica. The apparent contradiction is explained by the seasonal pattern of warming, say two glaciologists writing in Eos, the weekly newspaper of the American Geophysical Union.
The continent's winters and springs have warmed most, but it is still too cold in these seasons for anything to melt. Melting in Antarctica happens almost entirely in the summers, which have warmed very little, say Andrew Monaghan of the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, and Marco Tedesco of the City College of New York.
John King of the British Antarctic Survey, based in Cambridge, warned against misinterpreting the lack of summer warming.
"Climate change denialists will use this work as evidence that Antarctica is not warming, despite the authors saying their works show no such thing," he said.
Summer Meltdown Every year is different, says Tedesco.
"In 2005, we had summer melting occurring inland as well as over the coastal ice shelves, and over areas up to 2,500 meters [about 8,000 feet] above sea level."
And even during the exceptionally low melt of last summer, ice on the Antarctic peninsula, which stretches out towards South America, continued to melt. T

Actually Antartica where 90% of the world ice is, is growing. Why does the world need a certain amount of ice and what is the right amount?

This needs to be chiseled into a block of ice and dropped onto Algore.
Now the lying pseudo-scientists are claiming that cooling is a sign of warming!!!

As it is colder in winter and warmer in summer.
Another scientific breakthrough by elite academics who are paid to do this research.
I usually just go out on the back porch.
Hence the new and improved term "Climate Change". This way all the bases are covered. If it's too warm, it's YOUR FAULT. If it's too cold, it's YOUR FAULT. It's really quite a beautiful scam...as far as scams go that is.
Science is merely an intelligent guess. In this case a biased guess.

One of the many, many problems I have with the global warming theory is that scientists presume to detect a trend in weather patterns on a billion year old planet with 30 years of data. And the methods used to collect the data will be obsolete in another 30 years.
Has this been PEER Reviewed by anyone in the 5th Grade ?
The new Global Warming “Peers” are 5th Graders. If it gets by a 5th Grader, we’ll have some HS Graduates outside in the COLD COLD weather living on the street in Dumpsters take a look at the “Science” at ABC and friends.
If Global warming “Logic” of the why didn’t the Antarctic melt in the summer doesn’t get by the Dumpster people, then we may have to go to an Expert....like an old Eskimo who has lived in the Frozen wasteland all his life.
So now they only have 30 years of good data, and they are reading climate change into that microsecond of time?

Hey! Every time I put a pan of water on the stove to heat up it always gets much colder prior to starting to warm up.
