Yes, I just posted to someone else that I want to know exactly how he managed to get “drunk” and also to learn the exact reading of his alcohol content in his blood.

I hadn’t thought about a diabetic episode! You’re sure right about that!!!!

The crew radioed the situation, and the fighters were launched.

What an exercise in futility. What are they going to do...shoot the damn thing down or FORCE it to land. As both an ex AF fighter jock and as a retired airline captain having a fighter on your wing adds nothing to safety and enhances the possibility of tragedy.

Tyndall is up in the panhandle. I assume the plane was farther West than Atlanta. Not that far plus Tyndall has a couple of squadrons of F-22’s.

A little more info - still no ID of the perp:

NewsChannel 7 has learned a large group of students from the Spartanburg High Student Council was on a plane that made an emergency landing in Colorado Springs this afternoon because of unruly passenger. The passengers are now off the plane, some being interviewed by the FBI, according to school officials.

The spokeman at the airport in Colorado Springs says AirTran flight 39 was en route from Atlanta to San Francisco when an intoxicated man on board became arguementative (sic)and locked himself in the bathroom.

Students onboard the flight told NewsChannel 7, flight crews blocked the cockpit with food carts, and restrained the man.

The Captain announced an emergency landing, bringing the plane down.

Once on the ground, students say police rushed the plane, “taking the man to the ground” according to one student, before pulling him off the plane.

The FBI will be investigating the incident. Its not clear yet if the same plane will take off or passengers will leave on another one.

A Pittsburgh- Paris flight landed in New Foundland last night because of a drunk.

I predict this will lead to a declaration of no booze on airplanes which will require me to switch to heroin or massive quantities of Xanax.

I always have a bundle of 11 inch black zip ties in my flight bag. They come in very handy and dont alarm the TSA.
If some schmuck gets disruptive we can always zip tie his/her butt to a seat. Can also use them for deep wounds to constrict bleeding.

In years past, “body bombs” have been relegated to horror movies, like “Are You Scared” and “The Dark Knight,” which both featured bombs surgically inserted into torsos. But they played a central role in an attack earlier this year when a terrorist tied to al-Qaida attempted to kill a Saudi prince with a bomb hidden inside his rectum.

Though the world has yet to see a wave of attacks of this sort, some commentators said it pointed to a dangerous new trend.

Thanks.

I don’t know if it was just the musings of the anchorette or true.
But it was mentioned on Fox that the little pantybomber when asked by the judge about the drugs said he understood.
so is the defense going to be that anything he said to FBI is not to be admitted because of the pain meds he got for his burned franks and beans.

How do we know he was drunk? Might he have been doped up on something, just like the underpanties bomber was described to be?

Jihadists are known to drink and party around just before missions -- as the 'ordinary' rules of Islam do not apply to martyrs.

When a story is brand new & fresh and details are scarce, it's best to wait until more is known.

And never forget how the MSM and our gov't is trying to cover up lots of these incidents, so be sure to be on the lookout for any future statements & comments by fellow passengers on that flight.

THEY can tell us if it was some American college student who the flight attendent served one tooooo many, OR if it might have been a dangerous Trial Run (AKA: 'dry run') by a terrorist wannabe.

IF this incident was serious enough to concern the pilots enough that NORAD send 2 fighter jets...... I won't be surprised if there is alot more to this story.

I’ll one up you.

If a plane has to divert because of your behavior you should be put on a no-fly list.

There should be zero tolerance for behavior like this.

I remember all the cheering and excitement when a guy parachuted into a ballpark during a baseball game.

sigh.........more innocent times.

Now when we go to a ballpark we get our bags searched and patted down.

Good point, I was thinking along similar lines. At what point do they shoot an airliner down? Would they have pulled the trigger on the pantybomber flight? It was in final approach, too late to do anything anyway, and would have killed many innocent people for nothing.

The only feasible scenario is if an aircraft has been off course and unresponsive for a longer time, but even then it could just be two morons surfing the net on their laptops...

No. Alaska.

Did you read the story earlier this week that the muzzies at Guantanamo are asking their lawyers to fight the proposed move to Illinois? These folks like it hot.

Let them see Russia from their cages.
