Neil Cavuto just read news crossing the wire.
Two fighter jets were launched by NORAD from Tyndall AFB in FL due to an issue with an unruly passenger on an Air Tran flight from Atlanta to San Francisco.
Hopefully, more follows soon.
Plane has landed at Colorado Springs airport.
A young man was taken into custody after the flight was diverted.
The man was thought to be intoxicated and locked himself in the bathroom.
The crew radioed the situation, and the fighters were launched.
Everyone's safe on the flight .. the passenger is in custody.
Not meaning to pick on you, but AMRAAM has 3 A's.
LOL - The funniest post I've seen today. Thanx.
Okay, so it's a Jewish rocket, so what? 8-)
A lot of people go stir crazy in airplanes, so some alcohol is often good for controlling that.
There’s Nicorette for the nicotine addicts but nothing else I can think of to sub for alcohol.
Libs try to solve problems by social engineering. I think it is more conservative to hold people accountable for their behavior, not their eating and drinking habits.

Stop the Presses...the guy’s name is Muhammad Abu Tahir.
Knew it would be.
I never believed the drunk line. No one can be that drunk to be allowed on a plane, nor get that drunk on a flight (have you tried to get a drink on a plane, let alone 2 - it takes forever).
This “drunk” modus operandi is wearing thin quickly. Am pleased they released the name immediately.
Muslim and from VA!
BINGO BINGO BINGO
Ping! Another Amish Extremist causing airline issues.
Oh no the Amish again! /sarc

The "drunken passenger" can be a diversion to get all cabin crew together and away from the passengers, and then incapacitate them. The rear bathroom area is a perfect location for that. A trained fighter does not need a gun for that; a piece of fishing line will do, or a rope, or bare hands, if you have enough accomplices. The three stewardesses are probably not ninjas working a second job.
Of course, if that happens, you can expect either a demand to change course (or else passengers will be killed) or an attempt to breach the cockpit door. The fighters are there to make sure the airplane isn't going where it shouldn't be going, regardless of who controls it and what motivates the pilots. Most pilots would be reluctant to let all passengers die, and so they may be negotiating with terrorists (even though cold logic may tell them to not do that.)
This is , I was going to say “becoming” alarming. But it is way past that. This is horrifying. They are going to do it. They are.
Well, they did say that there were DOZENS of suicide attacks planned, didn’t they?
Thanks for telling me .. I had no idea.
A silly local station did that to FR?
That’s why I just posted the link. Been there, done that. But thanks for trying, Starwise.
Google Earth says the *road* distance from Tyndall AFB to Atlanta is 295 miles; the direct flight distance is 257 miles. The top speed of F-22 is classified (and unknown to me) but guesses on Internet place it between Mach 2.0 and 2.8, which would be between 1,500 and 2,100 mph. Then the airplanes need anywhere between 7 to 10 minutes to arrive to Atlanta area. That might be quick enough if the alternative is to send a car for local pilots, roll an airplane out of the hangar, etc.
GMTA—as I had similar thoughts when that “suspicious” van was found in Times Square last week. It COULD have been a diversion—to allow an “authorized crew” access to say, the tower where the ball was...and say..they could have done some “maintenance” on the ball...so that when it hit the bottom of the drop... and the 2010 sign came on...
Thankfully—new years in NY passed without incident. With the grace on our Lord...so to, will the superbowl.
