Veteran political analyst Charlie Cook says retirements are creating a vicious circle for Democratic politicians. For the first time, he sees a significant risk that Democrats could lose the House this year if trends continue. (Somebody alert RNC Chairman Michael Steele).
From Cook: How many other wavering House -- or Senate -- Democrats will look at the past five weeks and decide that spending the rest of this year as a lame duck is more attractive than spending a horrific year fundraising, scarfing down fast food, and shaking hands -- all the while facing the very real possibility of losing in the end? When their party starts singing endless choruses of This is going to be a lousy year, lawmakers can easily find themselves humming along.

Well, good luck to him.
If Brown were to win I think it would be 100 times as jarring to the Dems as the Christie and McDonnell victories. Even if Brown were to get as little as 45% in a state that has not elected a Republican senator in 38 years (and a liberal one at that) the Dems would have to be nervous.
Good work Tom! I got a call from a RNC fund-raiser. I told the fast-talking snot-nose that from now on I will make direct contributions to candidates of my choice ONLY. He accused me of not being a team player, and tried to sucker me into an argument. Be ready for them. The RNC has been too fat for too long.
I responded to Steele’s last fund raising letter thusly:
“In lieu of a donation to the RNC, a contribution-—in your name-—has been sent to the National Right to Life Committe.”
Those idiots in MA have voted for Kennedy and Kerry for decades...I'm not counting on them suddenly getting smart.
I can't wait for the little chit to call me and say that!
Sensible comment from the article:
Think about it deeply folks. As a die-hard adovocate of small government and
capitalism, I do not want to see the GOP regain control of either chamber of
Congress this year.
What I hope to see is the GOP cut ino both majorities in
a big way.
My reasoning? When 2012 comes around and our “Lord and
Savior” is on the ballot again, I want his party to be 100% to blame for
everything. We can kill his agenda in Congress and they can still face all of
the blame come Presidential election time. If the GOP wins 1 single chamber, the
Democrats will use that as much as they can to make us share the blame, and to a
lesser observer that claim looks legitimate.
If the Republicans win 1 or both
Chambers of Congress in a “Republican Revolution”, the Presidency of
Barack Obama will be saved in the same way and for the same reasons as the
“Republican Revolution” of 1994 saved the Presidency of Bill Clinton.
