Veteran political analyst Charlie Cook says retirements are creating a vicious circle for Democratic politicians. For the first time, he sees a significant risk that Democrats could lose the House this year if trends continue. (Somebody alert RNC Chairman Michael Steele).
From Cook: How many other wavering House -- or Senate -- Democrats will look at the past five weeks and decide that spending the rest of this year as a lame duck is more attractive than spending a horrific year fundraising, scarfing down fast food, and shaking hands -- all the while facing the very real possibility of losing in the end? When their party starts singing endless choruses of This is going to be a lousy year, lawmakers can easily find themselves humming along.

I hope Massachusetts gets a foot of snow and has wind gusts of 40mph - 50mph on January 19. That will definitely help Brown.
No matter what happens, the RNC and that inept fool Steele will not be seeing ANY of MY cash. I only donate directly to candidates I like. The check pants country club crowd can pound it.
So you should remember how he first got elected to Congress: by winning the RAT primary in a recount where they counted dimpled chads (that’s what gave Gore the idea of how to try to steal Florida in 2000).
Our accountant, in Cohasset ,is ramping up a run against Delahunt. He says it’s time that ordinary citizens stand up and challenge these entrenched pols. He’s bright, articulate and very Conservative. Right now he’s working on raising money to start running TV ads.
His wife is the publisher of a Conservative newspaper which can be found throughout the South Shore. It’s called The Tinytown Gazette.
Bump
“If the GOP takes Kennedy’s old seat they will be jumping out the windows. “
ah dare to dream my friend dare to dream :)
I heard that the RNC was giving him little or no support. Don’t know if that’s true.
A K-Street whore? Well, she's got the experience.
That’s right, I remember you mentioning before that your accountant was running. Unfortunately, I think that he’s going to have to raise quite a bit of money to be competitive in that sprawling district. He would probably be wise to forget about TV ads in the (expensive) Boston market (even though it reaches Quincy and other towns in the western end of the district) and run a more targeted campaign using local media. He should benefit from the gubernatorial election being atop the ballot, especially if he does well among independents, but it still won’t be easy to unseat Delahunt without a high name ID.
Who’s running against Delahunt?
Not true.
Dems lose the house? Not if Steele can help it!!
Dems lose the house? Not if Steele can help it!!
His name is Ray Kasperowicz. it won’t be an easy name for people to pronounce.
I agree. I think a GOP victory is possible especially how the current “transparent” negotiations are being conducted. It will eb the 2nd “shot heard run the world”.
Even if Brown looses, it will be close. A close election in Mass. would still scare the hell out of the dums across the country.
You all need to start up some kind of "Tea Party Flash Mob" thing. Have a network where everybody can be there in 10 minutes, appearing out of nowhere.
Only drawback I can think of is that Tea Partiers have jobs which would keep them from being able to go wherever whenever, unlike the young, left-leaning kids who typically do flash mobs.
It's a sad day when some inside-the-beltway schlub has more confidence in the GOP's fortunes than the GOP's own "chairman."
