For Mayor Sheila Dixon, it's hundreds of thousands of dollars in retirement money - one of the biggest things at stake in her legal troubles. By technically avoiding conviction under a plea deal reached Wednesday, she remains eligible for an $83,000 annual pension that not only starts paying out immediately after she leaves office but rises over time along with the salary of whoever is mayor of Baltimore.
So the mayor who put Baltimore through two years of hell will get a handsome check from city taxpayers for years to come. At 56, actuaries say, she ought to live another 27 years. That would give her $2.2 million over time even before accounting for any cost-of-living raise.
"She can start collecting right away because she meets all the qualifications," said Roselyn Spencer, executive director of the city's employees and elected officials retirement systems.

Shrug. If she could run for mayor she’d win. That reflects more on a majority of people in Baltimore than it does her.

Isn’t this the motis operandi of these elected psychopath losers? They do creepy things, plea-bargain and are allowed to retire. SICK! And people wonder why society is getting so screwed-up? With “leaders” like this???????????? Yes...she is a DIM. Here’s a quick quiz: can any of you in any jurisdiction identify any elected “official” who had a similar circumstance and was allowed to retire? A lot of these dimwit slobs move, wait a bit and then double dip in yet another govt job.
The only people who are okay with this sort of thing are people who have no concept of work and hard earned money.

In short, Sheila Dixon is a crook - a Democratic crook who has escaped justice. A person who steals a loaf of bread from their local 711 will get a more severe sentence than this woman. Le Miserable ala 2010.

Poor old Baltimore. The last mayor worth his salt was Willie Don Schaefer. He brought the City forward a long way. Every mayor since then has worked to destroy the City.
Her plea also lets her run for mayor again in two years. I wonder what she bought at Best Buy with all her gift cards?
