A poll of GOP insiders suggests that ex-AK Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has little support among the party's professional class -- and maybe that's just how she wants it.
In a survey of 109 party leaders, political professionals and pundits, Palin finished 5th on the list of candidates most likely to win the party's '12 WH nomination. Ex-MA Gov. Mitt Romney (R) was the overwhelming choice of the
Voters were asked to rank 5 candidates in the order of likeliness to capture the GOP nod. The results:
Likely To Win WH'12 Nomination (First place votes)
Ex-MA Gov. Mitt Romney 81 points (62%)
MN Gov. Tim Pawlenty 46 (9%)
Sen. John Thune 38 (12%)
MS Gov. Haley Barbour 28 (6%)
IN Gov. Mitch Daniels 25
Ex-AK Gov. Sarah Palin 25

Dunno on Daniels. He ain't exactly on the tips of conservatives' tongues, though. A few weeks back he lost a 2012 presidential straw poll to Palin by a 2-1 margin, in his own state. :)
Im not concerned at all with the GOP.
I go where conservatives go.
I go where Palin goes.
Mitt Romney can kiss my ass.

I share your sentiments except that I would not allow by ass to be insulted by contact with his lips.
GOP elitists will allow Obama to gain a second term......
Whatever, screw the GOP, I washed my hands of them a long time ago. Im a Conservative first, when the Republican party gets their thumbs out of their ears and actually starts LISTENING to US then I will support them again

It was interesting last year to see how many disaffected Reagan democrats were following SP. The PUMAs have a lot of fire in the belly, and are as sick of their apparatchiki as we are of ours.
It really does not matter what they think.
What matters to get elected President is what the American voters think and there are more American voters that have an Unfavorable opinion of Sarah Palin than there are American voters that have a Favorable opinion of Sarah Palin.
Like it or not, them's the facts.
Having a sizable majority of voters have, at the very least, a Favorable opinion of a candidate is the lowest minimum requirement needed to have a sonwball's chance in Hell of getting elected to any office. You may have a Favorable opinion of two candidates but still think that one is much better suited for a public office. You may have a "Favorable" opinion of your neighbor's cat but that does not mean you are going to vote for the cat for Mayor.
If any candidates are so disliked by the American electorate that they actually has more voters with an Unfavorable opinion of them than a Favorable one, those candidate are toast in a Presidential election.
I wouldn’t worry a bit about that poll. Mitt? I don’t think so.
ah that gave me a good laugh :D
Still I find it hard to understand how Romney enjoys so much support.
He couldn’t even come close to beating Mccain, who couldn’t even come close to beating Obama or Hillary for that matter.
The only thing that I can figure that makes the GOP think he stands any chance in Hell in winning this time is that this is the GOP we are talking about, and it is not smart, not by any means.
I almost agree with you. I do not want anything to do with a 3rd party. It should only come in play if the knot heads at the National Committee continues with their “elitist” loosers strategy.
They do Suffer from this illness.
It is time to “Get The Job Done” and we have no room for error. We must recover our nation from the Commies Left that controls the Dem. Party.
If the Republican National Committee wants to play the game to win, OK. But if they only want to continue with “me too” but weaker strategy, all the rules go out the window.
Obviously, the republican “insiders” have done such a great job. they allowed nobmama to be elected by the boneheaded mccain move. LOSERS! Please resign and let conservative activists run the party.
They didn't think too highly of Ronald Reagan, either.
How is that working out for all you?
The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++8 to 10 pts. in some polls, days prior to the election.
So rather than helping the GOP, poor loser I am Myth Romney and
TeamROMNEY decided
to attack Gov. Palin (and her defenseless children) to throw Election2008.
The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"Im told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palins people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off
.hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."
Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney
"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"
"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"
"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

Of course the Mittens won. All of those a**hole DC Republicans who participated in the poll work for him.
Isn't that special?
Losers they are. In fact, losing seems to be the only thing they are good at >_<;
Corporations, whether publicly owned or privately owned are the only effective creators of wealth, also known as capital.
I am all for encouraging formation of corporations since small corporations create lion’s share of new jobs. I am AGAINST bailouts of large corporations who are inherently inefficient, bureaucratic and have the $$$ to corrupt politicians.
EDIT: RINOs GOP Insiders Sour On Palin
Edited for clarity...
And made him promise to be pro-life first. All in Craig Shirley’s book on the 1980 election—political junkie catnip.
