I've gotten tired of writing back to the RNC after all the mailings I have been sent this past year, so now I am simply throwing them in the trash, where Steele should also be thrown.

Guess they don’t hear us or just don’t understand us. We don’t want a third party, but the RNC needs to know that we want CONSERVATIVES who will fight in office.

>> Michael Steele has issued a “call to arms for grassroots America.”

Hey, we’ve HEARD your “call to arms”, Michael!

Only problem is, YOU think that means “send me money”

We the People, on the other hand, see it quite literally as a CALL TO ARMS.

And you, Michael Steele, are on the other side.

The OP(formerly the GOP) and the socialist RATs are two sides of the same coin thanks to the former becoming incrementally accepting of socialist principles to expand their voter base. We effectively have one big socialist Republicrat party system. Conservatives need to unite in a party based on strong Conservative principles to have any chance of returning the country back to the Constitution.

RE :”Nor is he convinced the GOP is ready to lead

Steele has had problems (probably liberal) but he is right on the mark here with this. They are NOT ready to lead. So far the GOP’s only theme is ‘stop democrats’. That is good for the country, but not a majority position. Right now gridlock is our only hope. If republicans were in power they would be screwing us now.

Steele was very lucky to get this job at this time. Easy wins.

....throwing them in the trash...

You should at least send the postage paid envelope back empty and make them pay.

Previous to his chairman position, I have always liked Michael Steele. I did not think he was a good fit at all for this position. I really wish Ken Blackwell had gotten it. He is a hell of a good spokeman for conservative issues and just comes across better. Steele is trying to hard to be a ‘buddy’ to the public and to media types, when we need a disciplined message.

When he got picked I realized the squishes are still in charge of the party, and sure enough, it is true.

Mike Steel should be replaced by Sarah Palin as RNC Chairman.

I like to think of myself as a Free Range Republican. It’s like the difference between a drunk and an alcoholic-drunks don’t have to go to meetings.

The entrenched heads of the RNC thought they had to have a black man as the titular head so they picked Steele.

Since he is a RINO and the people who actually run the RNC are Rockefeller Republicans the marriage works. None of them really care if the Republican party wins anything as long as they have their toy (the Party) and money to play with.

They know now, with the current polls, that real conservatives are on the cusp of taking over the Party and they also know that would mean they would all get tossed out on their collective ears and their ego boosting fun would over. They have to try to sabotage the elections so they can maintain their power within the Party. That is more important to them than the country or our freedoms and liberties.

Republicans advertise themselves as being better democrats: liberal-lite with better budget management. What losers, literally.

I don't want fiscally responsible republican obamacare. I want a Constitutional reform and overhaul of government and the restoration of free market capitalism.

Steele was just on a local radio talk show.

He sounded as though he has seen the light.

Trust him?

The repubs had a majority for 6 yrs. of Bush the Younger and got snookered at every turn by the dims.
They don’t have the ‘killer’ instinct to play politics the way it has to be played in these times.
It’s a take no prisoners, no compromise world today.
Forget bipartisanship, it doesn’t exist.
