WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senators Benjamin L. Cardin and Barbara A. Mikulski (both D-Md.) today announced the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act includes funding for job training in renewable and energy efficient industries in Maryland through the Department of Labor (DOL).

This $4.6 million ARRA grant has been awarded H-CAP, Inc to provide enhanced skills training to job seekers and entry-level environmental service workers for new and emerging green jobs in the healthcare industry. The project will operate in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Prince George’s County in Maryland, as well as counties in New York, California and the District of Columbia.

“This Partnership is funded with recovery dollars and it is an investment in our future – a future in which our state and nation will become more energy efficient and independent and one that will create new, green jobs that will help grow our economy,” said Senator Cardin, a member of the Senate Budget Committee.

“This funding is exactly what the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act is all about - creating and sustaining jobs today and preparing for the jobs of tomorrow,” Senator Mikulski said. “This grant will give Marylanders the opportunity to get the training they need to find and keep a job, while also helping to make sure that health care in Maryland is environmentally friendly."

H-CAP, Inc. will partner with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in Maryland as well as Health Care Without Harm (HCWH), a coalition that promotes environmentally-friendly healthcare practices, to train approximately 3,000 job seekers. The project will also develop new curricula that will cover the role of environmental service workers in green healthcare, the development of cross-industry green jobs and green career pathways for entry-level workers.

"Environmentally friendly healthcare??"

Maybe they run the hospitals without electricity. No OR lights. No electronic monitoring of vitals. No electric cauterization. No refrigeration to manufacture or preserve pharmaceuticals. No heating or AC.

What about "environmentally friendly's" brother "sustainable"? How did he get left out? We also need "sustainable" health care!

And "Diverse"! I want "diverse" health care, too! It's much better than plain old health care where everything is uniformly boring.

If you look at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2422743/posts and scroll to line 3 of the table, you will see that this grant lists "immigrants and minorities" as the "Populations Served." Does that mean that white Americans need not apply?

Read the table. These grants are payouts to Zero's buddies. And some of them are blatantly discriminatory.

Green jobs won’t happen until spring when the grass needs mowing.

Green jobs = phantom jobs. Generic for hope and change kinds of jobs.

Green jobs my ass!!! These two frauds wouldn't know how to create or sustain a job if their lives depended on it. Fortunately for them (and unfortunate for the REAL American taxpayers like us), all these traitors have to do is to dip back into the gubmint trough and dispense some more money to their thug unions & plantation slaves. DemoRATs are 100% clueless about everything. We need an American Revolution II to throw these bastards & the rest of the Senate & House demoRATs AND 0bozo & his entire administration, out of office and straight into prison for the next 50 years.

And one more thing.... $4.6 BILLION to train "green" service level jobs for approximately 3000 job seekers??? That equals over $1.5 MILLION DOLLARS per job!!! That's a hell of entry level service job??? What the hell is a "green" service level entry job anyway??? Are we paying SEIU thugs over $1.5M to mow the f__kin' lawns and take two hour breaks, plus holidays & weekends & 4 weeks of vacation? Could I give up my years in college and working at a tech firm to be a service employee and getting paid over $1.5M over the next 5 years or so???

What a travesty. To the gallows with these RAT bastard traitors!!!!

you will see that this grant lists “immigrants and minorities” as the “Populations Served.”

Sounds right. Regions served, as listed, are mostly minority.

“entry-level” sounds like minimum wage, with dues for SEIU, of course.

I will guess that these “new green health care jobs” means new shakedown opportunities for SEIU at hospitals for things like trash/medical waste removal.

“This $4.6 million ARRA grant has been awarded H-CAP, Inc to provide enhanced skills training to job seekers..”

What kind of training would be required? That’s a lot of money for a few classes. Indoctrination more like...I’m sure Obama isn’t the only one who taught Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.

“Marylanders . . . wake up”

Oh, the irony of the ‘Free State’.

As for environmentally friendly health care, perhaps this is the Solyent Green recycling program...

Heh, I’d like to see Angry Ben and the Fat Dwarf find and keep real jobs in the private sector after voters finally get sick of them. Hey, even Marylanders in general have a lick of sense, sometimes, as with the defeat of KKT in 2002.

Maryland “Freak State” PING!
