Three people are dead after a shooting at a grocery store in south Minneapolis and the gunman remains on the loose.
The shooting occurred around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Seward Market and Hamal Meat grocery store.
The store is located on E. Franklin Avenue near 24th Street. The intersection is about 5 blocks west of Franklin and Riverside.
Police are searching block by block with dogs looking for the shooter.
A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS crew is at the scene.
Minneapolis crowed about the fact that they only had 19 homocides in'09. Indeed, that was good news.
They're up to four in '10.

The Franklin-Cedar-Riverside areas are mostly Somali.

Police blocked off E. Franklin Avenue, routing cars onto side streets to get through the area. Scores of people, many of them from the Somali community, which frequents the halal market, thronged the area seeking information.”
That about says it all. We simply must take this country back and invite a LOT of people to leave. If we don't, it will disintegrate into constant civil war which will go on for YEARS.
I’ll just say that no one drives on down to Franklin Avenue in the dead of winter from Lake Minnetonka to stick up a little neighborhood market.

I suppose Greenfield, Loretto, Western Hwy 55 (before Plymouth became a MSP spleeper subdiv) area are alot different from when I lived there in the 80’s
I singlehandedly changed the demographics of Apple Valley just by my mixed heritage when I moved here.
Actually, I’m just crashing at one of my buddy’s house for a while until I get a job that would reduce or eliminate my dependence on my dysfunctional family. But yeah, that market’s in the Seward neighborhood. That’s the area I used to live in up until about a week ago. I was actually going to go back home and play some hockey at Matthews Park this weekend but now I’m going to go to my buddy’s dad’s cabin up in the Arrowhead instead.
The Somali community needs to keep that tribal BS back in Somalia.
Added.... I would probably blame militant Islam for this and not the Somali community itself. Going to school with Somalis, I’ve noticed that the less religiously dogmatic they were, the more likely they weren’t jerks. There was this one guy I went to high school with. He wasn’t really that religious, and he wasn’t that much of an jerk. In fact, he owns 2 businesses in the area and has successfully assimilated into American culture. However, the more dogmatic they were, the more likely they were rude and violent.
I can somewhat sympathize. Life isn’t exactly peachy for them. They’re facing a lot of discrimination from people in their new country, a lot of it is undeserved and much of it comes from militant African-Americans so a lot of them are falling back on militant Islam to give them power. Since they’re in Minneapolisgrad and Saint Paulgrad, they’re not really informed about how the constitution in this country protects them at the local high schools and colleges and if they feel threatened, they could stand their ground.
To solve this problem in the Somali community, we have to start kicking the proverbial Lucy and quit trying to kick the football. The Lucy here is liberalism and militant Islam. If it wasn’t for liberalism, the Somali community would integrate and assimilate themselves like many other ethnic groups in the TC.
I remember before 9/11, they were some of the strongest Republicans we had in our area. It’s sad that they let the jingoists scare them away into voting for the Dems instead of doing the right thing and put country over identity politics and hurt feelings. The Cuban-Americans, Asian Indian-Americans and the Orthodox Jews weren’t scared off by the jingoists. They could have nullified the influence that the Chicago thugs have in the TC area to the point where Keith Ellison would have been just another angry black man on the bus.
It is now being reported that law enforcement is looking for two suspects in this triple murder of Somalis.
Both suspects are now being reported as being......
