By chance did the Unruly Passenger have a Muslim Name, a Prayer Carpetand spend an Hour in the Lavatory before the Crew decided they would risk charges of “PROFILING” by the TOTUS and certain Prison Terms for looking out for the welfare of the rest of the passengers, crew, and hardware?

Here’s the latest from midnight last night. Still no word on nationality or religion. I think someone just forgot to take their meds...

PORTLAND, Ore. — A passenger’s threatening behavior forced a plane to turn around and head back to Portland Wednesday.

The Maui-bound Hawaiian Airlines plane was turned around during the flight and landed safely at PDX.

Transportation Security Administration officials said in a statement that “the captain made a decision to return the plane to Portland due to a suspicious passenger who made threatening remarks and refused to store his carry-on bag.”

The FBI said the passenger was a 56-year-old Salem man. He was not charged and the case was turned over to the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Officials with the Portland Air National Guard Base’s 142nd Fighter wing said two F-15 jets were scrambled at 1 p.m. to escort the plane down.

I was about a mile from PDX airport eating lunch yesterday when I saw the two jets takeoff.

Who would have thunk it was 'business' and not another training flight

Sometime when there I see 3 or 4 takeoff about about 30 seconds a part.

I agree, the person should be billed for the cost of scrambling them, including if another passenger suffered any loss of money for the later flight.

Maybe these thoughtless dolts will get the message in the havoc they cause.

What in the he** would two fighter jets do if the “unruly” passenger decided to blow up the airliner? Watch it go down in flames? What a colossal waste of money and resources.

If there were sky marshals aboard the hijacked planes. El Al, the Israeli national airline, is the most secure airline in the world, and all its flights have sky marshals.
