Helmsman: "Hey, that ship's made of composite fiber, right?"
Captain: "Yup."
Helmsman: "So if we hit it, it can't be repaired, right?"
Captain: "Not without some difficulty, yup."

Cool boat (I want one)... don’t know if it is worth 5 Million though. It looks to me they ran straight into the larger vessel and had warnings complimented by a water hose trying to keep them away.

Did the eco-crew survive?
Darn.

There are a couple of good threads going on this already. Most think the Seal Shepards rammed the whaler. I'm not so sure but have been arguing that even if the Japanese turned into them it was self defense.
Another poster said the Sea Shepards were using blinding lasers from the speed boat. They were definitely throwing stuff and trying to disable the Japanese ship's screws.

Call it what it is! The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is a terrorist organization. It’s founder, Paul Watson, is also on the board of directors of the Sierra Club. The Sierra Club is no longer a conservation organization, it is an enabler for eco-terrorists.

Too bad for the boat, I liked the innovative design. I guess the lesson is don’t give an expensive, innovative boat to childish lunatics.

the newly commissioned Bob Barker. The boat is named for the American game show host who donated $5 million to buy it.

I find it interesting that these Enviro-weenies name one of their ships
Sea Shepherd.
Isn't the purpose of a shepherd to preserve a flock so that the animals can eventually be harvested for human use?
The Japanese are the harvesters here.

Two questions: (1) Was a Kennedy captaining the speed boat? (2) Was the speed boat flying this:
If no to question 2, the whaler had right away

Just the idea of challenging a ship when basically you are in a row boat is nuts? What is it that makes them even think they have a chance doing this? One of these days the boat is gong to sink and they will die doing these idiot things.

The ship has the "right of steerage," although in the vernacular it is known as the "right of weight."
