Yes, indeed. A couple of such incidents a day for six months and we might be able to regain control of our borders.
Lawsuit, leading to the transfer of one Arizona county to the immigrant’s family.
Assault a Border Agent and his K9 expect it.
No sympathy whatsoever.
Never bring a rock to a gunfight!
Well, I wonder if 0bama will continue the Bush Doctrine and put the Border Patrol Agent in prison. And maybe the dog too.... If perchance it was a Muslim ‘migrant’ no doubt there will be congressional hearings about it.
Sets a good example for the rest of these invaders.
They wouldn’t REPEATEDLY throw rocks if they thought they had this coming.
This Border Agent will likely be fired and criminally prosecuted.
A fence could have prevented this death.
Have a friend in Arizona who likes to hike and camp. He’s sent pictures of the debris trails left by illegals. On his last trip in high country his tent was stoned from multiple directions and he finally had to fire off a few star shots. I think I would have aimed lower. Anyway, he finished the night shivering in a hidden location. Border patrol wasn’t interested in his story other then why he was there.
The bullets FPS is faster than an Illegal. One down 12 million to go.
The honorable thing would have been to let illegal alien die under the tree he was so diligently trying to defend with his rock throwing skills. Also there would have been no need to increase the authorities carbon footprint by putting a helicopter in the air.
I wonder if a Congressional Medal of Honor could be given to the Border Patrol Agent who put his life of the line to protect us from this insurgency?
There is a double fence at Douglas, and there are 280 miles of fence across the Arizona-Mexico border.
So, an illegal throwing a 4 ounce (113 grams) rock at 80 mph (35.7632 meters/sec) has the following kinetic energy.
KE = 0.5 x mass x velocity^2
KE = 0.5 x 113 grams x 35.76 meters/second
KE = 2,020.44 Joules
Border patrol responds with a 9mm 125 grain bullet (7.45187465 grams), fired at 490 meters/second
KE = 0.5 x 7.45 grams x 490 meters/second
KE = 1,825.25 Joules
The law enforcement’s energy expended in his response was LESS than the energy expended in attacking him, and his dog.
BP ping!
If you want on, or off this S. Texas/Mexico ping list, please FReepMail me.
Border Patrol is doing their job...we are thankful.
I hope the agent knows he is justified and that he’s ok with it.
We need to keep in mind that military, LEO’s, Border Patrol have to make critical decisions and then go home at night and sit down at the table with their kids.
Civilization thanks this accurate border patrol agent.
That 12 million figure has been used since 2002 ;-)
He was only throwing rocks Americans were unwilling to throw......
Check your units (use kg, not g), and don’t forget to square the velocities...
Rock - 72.3 joules
Bullet - 894.3 joules
