I think that the developers of Providence Place in Mt. Juliet (I live in Lebanon), saw the problems with an indoor mall being a place where thugs and gang bangers and teenage tramps came to hang out and decided that the best way to deal with that was just to not have an indoor mall.

Mt. Juliet police also tend to patrol through Providence, too.

Morgan Stanley, world-wise you know, just told the Blackstone Group that they were handing back the keys to FIVE buildings in the financial district in San Francisco.

We don’t want them any more, so here you go.

However, I should hire them to consult me on my business.

I’m telling ya . . .

Yeah, I’ve heard bad things about Oak Ridge. Another incompetent liberal Democrat-run locale. One thing that I noticed when studying our state’s population figures is that it has been stuck at roughly the same population for quite some time, an indication of stagnancy. Of course, it was never an “authentic” town to begin with, but a government project. A big strike against it right there (although Los Alamos in NM has done a bit better, and it is about politically average, meaning however the country tends to go in an election, it goes).

Well, that’s not necessarily a guarantee, either. Remember that Fountain Square was an outdoor mall, too, and it still attracted the bad element. Of course, Providence isn’t right near by high-crime neighborhoods, unlike FS.

Oak Ridge used to fair pretty well even attracting some Knoxville shoppers in. To be honest the old shopping center was the heart and soul of the town. The merchants could pay their rent easy enough. They made a huge mistake by not making a deal with the Super Walmart beside it {literally} to join to it. It was a nice mall to start out and several real good places to eat at especially a place called the Mustard Seed. The rent kept going up and more and more merchants moved out to the shopping centers. Those that did made it. Those who stayed went under except two anchor stores like Sears. But I haven't been in a Sear in years.

As recent as 5 years ago I felt reasonably safe in Oak Ridge at night. Then came the huge illegal influx. Now I carry. Compare that to areas in neighboring North Knox County where I still sometimes shop at night and feel somewhat safer. No camera lights either nor a 15 MPH speed limit on the main hi-way.

Politically my county does reasonably well despite the majority Liberal voting population in Oak Ridge. Republicans so far are holding their own.

Oak Ridge has not grown but the county seat is though. Clinton in the past decade has nearly tripled and is bringing in industry and retailer Oak Ridge runs off. Last night was my first major shopping trip to Oak Ridge in six months and I used to spend well over $500 a month there.

Fortunately I'm on the opposite end of the county from OR and in a rural area. No public housing nearby to attract the illegals. :>}

What was posted about Opryland was interesting. It was a Bonehead move to shut it down. It was THE tourist magnet for many other venues there. I'm within an easy hour and half drive to Dollywood and like it but I also liked Opryland as well. As long as Dolly is alive and has an interest and say in it Dollywood will most likely stay. She's a good woman who never forgot about the community from which she came. She's done a lot of good for the area that she by no means had too.

Sorry for the late response. When I started, America’s teachers were born at minimum of 1947. Those traditions and values followed me all the way. I was in East TN. in a growing town (Maryville).
