Glenn Beck on birther issue: 'Dumbest thing I've ever heard'
World Net Daily ^ | 01/04/2009 | Drew Zahn

Posted on 01/05/2010 1:52:27 PM PST by autumnraine

On the air today, popular radio host Glenn Beck mocked "birthers" and claimed there is a concerted campaign to get those questioning Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility onto the airwaves – a strategy Beck said would actually benefit Obama.

"There's always games being played behind the scenes at a talk radio show," Beck said. "Rush has always called them seminar callers. But instead of being coy with the seminar callers or with you, I'm just going to expose the game that is going on. Today there is a concerted effort on all radio stations to get birthers on the air."

"I have to tell you, are you working for the Barack Obama administration?" Beck scoffed. "I mean, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."

The ongoing dialogue then spun off into ridicule as Beck caricatured those who question the sitting president's eligibility with straw-man arguments reminiscent of jibes made by Obama's apologists in other news outlets.

Beck defined birthers as people who believe Obama was born in Kenya or other foreign country, was raised as a Manchurian candidate and somehow brainwashed Hillary Clinton into not exposing his fraud. According to Beck's running joke, birthers believe someone – maybe Obama's KGB "control" – preemptively placed Obama's birth announcement in 1961 Hawaiian newspapers with a "roadmap" of getting an African man into office.

As for Obama producing a long-form birth certificate to actually prove his place of birth, Beck questioned, "Why do that when these people ['birthers'] are so discrediting themselves?"

Get the must-wear clothing item for 2010! "Where's the birth certificate" T-shirt!

The radio host further argued that by distracting the public from actionable issues, "birthers" have become "a dream come true" for Obama, an ideal situation akin to the fantasies of adolescent boys after Hollywood bombshells.

We'll just have to agree to disagree without being disagreeable! I think it's a whole lot more complicated and takes much more effort and convoluted thinking to explain away the effort Obama is making to hiding his past than it does to recognize the simplest explanation is that he's hiding something, and we want to know that that is.

Interesting exchange, and it's one of the things I really love about FR. Thanks!

Quite a few months ago someone did a bit of research and found the official list of racial and ethnic terms used on Hawaii documents in the early 60s. I wish I could remember who it was or exactly what was on the list. Maybe someone else remembers. “African” was not on the list, and IIRC neither was “black”. Again, IIRC, the word was “Negro”.

Same way his alleged father wasn’t “eligible” to marry his alleged mother, being already married and all that. As in bigamy, as in posing.

That bunch seems to have a propensity for living off the books, huh?

Attorney Stephen Pidgeon letter to Glenn Beck regarding this issue.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2421899/posts

Attorney Stephen Pidgeon is one of the lawyers involved in the B.C. issue. He is currently working with Leo Donofrio on the Chrysler lawsuit. Below is his letter to Glenn Beck. Great job, Stephen! S.B.

Dear Mr. Beck:

You are ill-informed on the “birther” issue. Barack Obama, by his own admission, was a British subject at birth. He has never denied having a Kenyan father, who himself was a British subject as a Kenyan native. This is easly established under the British Nationality Act of 1948. He is therefore disqualified to run for the office of the President, because the office is not available to subjects of other governments. The issue is very simple, and very obvious. Obama himself admitted that he wasn’t a natural born citizen when he debated Alan Keyes in 2004.

Let’s see you deal with this one. There is nothing “nutty” about it, and it doesn’t depend on whether his maternal grandmother tried to cover up a foreign birth in Hawaii by placing newspaper notices. It is as plain as your face. BHO is a foreign national first, and an American secondarily, if at all. That is why he thinks there are 57 states; why he doesn’t understand the constitution; why he wants to give us Britain’s health care system (it’s all in the teeth, don’t you know); why he thinks Interpol should have greater authority in the US than US law enforcement; etc. He is a British subject and has no business holding the office of POTUS.

If you think you can overlook this constitutional crisis as not part of the Rubicon, you are mistaken. One constitutional overlook breeds another and the next thing you know, the financial industry is nationalized, the auto industry is nationalized, the health care industry is about to be nationalized, and the energy industry will soon be nationalized.

Ultimately, it is all going to be okay, because socialism only lasts until other people’s money (OPM) runs out, and binge spender BHO has spent all the money we have and all the money we will ever have for the next several generations. He spent all of this before he got his socialist healthcare on the table. He and his wife have partied like Eddie Murphy in The Distinguished Gentleman (1992) since taking office, while he has busied himself with overthrowing the constitutional republic, establishing a new Islamic empire worldwide, disarming and crippling America, and unilaterally dividing Israel and Jerusalem. The only budget constraint for Obama is ink and paper (and he is working his way around that) and his foreign policy advisor appears to be “mirror, mirror on the wall”. He has bankrupted the nation, which the sleeping Oprah watchers are now discovering for the very first time. The reality of the bankruptcy will hit home with gusto in 2010. Not only will we suffer with 30% unemployment, a complete collapse of real estate, and a complete collapse of the dollar, we will also suffer the slings and arrows of dramatic military defeats, as we let this foreigner steer the ship of state. Most Americans have no idea how bad it is going to get.

As for Obama: he will be one of history’s most reviled figures – on a par with Nero – as a fool who couldn’t even understand that when he denigrated the United States, he was destroying the very state upon which his safety and his legacy depended. He will suffer dramatic defeat in Afghanistan and Iraq – it will not be like Viet Nam, and his name will be tarred with it. It will be more like the disastrous defeat of Xerxes at Salamis, or the Ottomans at Sisek, or the Moors at Tours; a game changing defeat that will forever cement the destiny of the republic known as the United States of America. Obama will join the other names in history who suffered cataclysmic losses in the lands of Magog.

His legacy? A communist, collectivist fool, brainwashed by red diaper doper babies haunting the halls of ivy league academia whose agenda was to bring back the failed Bolshevik revolution worldwide, who brought his fully bloomed ignorance to power illegally in the US because of the needs of his narcissistic ego, whose illegitimacy caused the US to go bankrupt and to suffer its worst military setbacks in the history of the nation in just a few short months. History will marvel at the foolishness of Americans, and historians will wonder how we as a people could have allowed this to happen. Then, of course, historians will ultimately conclude that the demise of the greatest nation the world had ever known happened because the watchdogs whose duty it was to warn Americans of such possibilities – the so-called news media – conspired with foreign powers and global financial criminals to destroy America from the inside, as a result of their cowardice, malevolence and silence.

Contributing member: Glenn Beck, who simply could not bring himself to utter the truth about Obama – that he is a usurper, holding the presidency illegally and unconstitutionally, because he is without a legal birthright. Let us never forget who shirked their duty to tell the truth in these last hours, and let us not allow history to forget.

STEPHEN PIDGEON

He wasn’t legally married to his “wife” in Kenya, he married her in a tribal ceremony not registered with the civil authorities which does/did not count under British law.

I don't think he was born in Kenya, I think he was born in Canada. Combined with his father's lack of citizenship and his mother not being old enough to transfer citizenship, would jeopardize his NBC status.

I have scanned the map of the world and saw the incredible distance from Honolulu to Kenya. First across the ocean to the United States, then across that country to the east coast, thence to Africa and thence across that continent to the East Coast Province. A young vulnerable woman of 18 years had one best friend in her situation. It would have been her good mother- not the feckless, selfish, egoistic, and opportunistic father. I think she would not have gone to Kenya.

Canada could be a possibility. I would hazard the grouping by race, of the father might even be "Arabic". Irrespective of that, there can be no doubt that Glenn Beck and others wax a little hysterical here. Since the "birthers" may be only a marginal group of Conservatives, one could ask, so what? I can only suggest that to Beck and others, the questions about the birth certificate is like a chigger or mite under their skin.

It keeps itching. LOL

Neither of us would have traveled at all with a newborn baby (in cloth diapers, no less!), and certainly not a teenager alone, by plane, international flight in 1961, when few people flew. Where was the money for a very expensive fare?

The Canadian birth makes sense, as does a date different from the one he’s claimed. After all, we have no reason to accept the Aug. 1961 date except 0’s word, and that’s not worth much right now, as far as I’m concerned.

That birthdate may, indeed, be why all the school records are scrubbed. As long as nobody knows for sure when he was born, it makes it much harder to look for any documentation of the birth.

We need to disregard everything 0 has told us about his background and start over, using ONLY provable facts. Which means starting with a fairly blank slate.

Precisely.

Flying outside the rules of civilized society. The rules don’t count. Technicalities. What Ann didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her. And those kids left behind in Africa, never mind about them . . .

That’s 0’s dream from his father. What footsteps to follow.

"That MUSLIM appears as his religion on the birth certificate?"

Where on any birth certificate is there a field for a child's religion?

You'd think that the infamous Nordyke birth certificates would have long ago put an end to the 'Muslim on the birth certificate' rumor.

Because as the Nordyke documents clearly show, the Hawaiian long-form certificate had NO FIELDS for religion of the mother, father or child. None. So you can't even argue that Hawaii's forms were different from everywhere else's. Anyone arguing that there could be religious content on the long-form simply isn't paying attention to their own evidence.

Source, please. I don't care about the witness accounts, just the news stories.

search is your friend. [irrelevant links follow]

When you said that there were "African news stories," I assumed you meant that there was something contemporary with his birth. Is this true? What African news stories were you referring to?

Irrelevant doesn't begin to describe the problems. The first link starts off with this:

"According to Obama's Kenyan (paternal) grandmother, as well as his half-brother and half-sister, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Kenya..."

A very bad start, considering that no half-brother or half-sister ever said anything of the sort. It's a bad sign when the lede itself has false information.

Looks like it is working too.

No other conservative will take this issue on either, but he could at least leave it alone.

The BC issue is emblematic of the entire erased past of this phantom man. It’s not just the BC. It’s the 45+ year blank slate. How do you live more than four decades without making an impression on classmates, without leaving a trail of grades, writings, and friendships?

Having seen some of your responses, I don't expect you to understand, but for the sake of those attempting to: any candidate, including Obama, who presents a valid U.S. birth certificate, who is 35 and has lived in country for 14 years, but both of whose parents were not U.S. citizens is not eligible to be president. A citizen is not necessarily natural born. Chief Justice Marshall “...born in the country of parents who are its citizens”. Every state could pass such a law and it probably would not prevent Obama from running again. If he doesn't have a birth certificate he will manufacture one and there is no one around who can or will challenge it. He is no dummy, and has done a commendable job of covering his past, a job worthy of an excellent intelligence agency!

"He wasn’t legally married to his “wife” in Kenya, he married her in a tribal ceremony not registered with the civil authorities which does/did not count under British law." I don't believe that is correct.

• See Kenya Marriage Act of 1902 paragraph #49:

49. Whoever contracts a marriage under this Act, being at the time married in accordance with native law or custom or in accordance with Mohammedan law to any person other than the person with whom such marriage is contracted, shall be guilty of an offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years.

• BNA of 1948 Legitimation of persons born out of wedlock:

23.—(1) A person born out of wedlock and legitimated by the subsequent marriage of his parents shall, as from the date of the marriage or of the commencement of this Act, whichever is later, be treated, for the purpose of determining whether he is a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies, or was a British subject immediately before the commencement of this Act, as if he had been born legitimate.

(2) A person shall be deemed for the purposes of this section to have been legitimated by the subsequent marriage of his parents if by the law of the place in which his father was domiciled at the time of the marriage the marriage operated immediately or subsequently to legitimate him, and not otherwise.

Let's assume for the sake of argument that BHO’s mother gave birth in Hawaii. If she and BHO Sr. were at the hospital, one of them would likely fill out the info form that the hospital would use for BC information. Likely BHO Sr. as mom would be busy at that moment...

The information for the BC is provided *after* the birth. Almost always by the mother. Likely BHO Sr wasn't even present at the hospital. All evidence point to Stanley Ann and BHO Sr never living together, at least after the birth, and since they were married a mere 6 months before the birth, they likely never actually lived together. No one remembers them living together, AFAIK, not even BHO Sr's friends who remember lots of other stuff about him.

Best look at a globe instead of a map. It's shorter to cross the Pacific from East Africa than to cross Africa, the Atlantic, North America and a good chunk of that same Pacific ocean.

Oh if you could go great circle all the way, the distances are not that much different. But whether by air or sea, or some combination, you certainly couldn't do that in 1961, and you still couldn't today, although you could come pretty close.

That said, 18 y/o girls often have poor opinions of their mothers, and way too high of opinions of the wrong men, especially exotic ones, which was what Stanley Ann seems to prefer. Her second husband was Indonesian.

But I am tending more to the Canadian birth model. Sent there by her good mother, and then reneged on giving up BHO Jr., and instead squirreling him and herself away in Seattle until BHO Sr left Hawaii.
