Obi should read this article dated December 20, 2000, from CNN regarding the USS Cole bombers. Note that the article even pre-dates the 9-11 attacks by almost a year and certainly pre-dates the opening of GITMO:

Obama said that al-Qaeda was formed in Arabian peninsula because of GITMO.

He mis-spoke.

He meant that the al-Qaeda ART COLONY through the Saudi Art Rehab program had formed in the Arabian peninsula because of GITMO.
