2010 Situation Grows More Difficult for Democrats

To minimize expected losses in next fall's election, President Barack Obama's party is testing a line of attack that resurrects George W. Bush as a boogeyman and castigates Republicans as cozy with Wall Street.
Four House Democrats from swing districts have recently chosen not to seek re-election, bringing to 11 the number of retirements that could leave Democratic-held seats vulnerable to Republicans. More Democratic retirements are expected.
Over the holiday break, another Democrat, freshman Rep. Parker Griffith of Alabama, defected to the GOP. "I can no longer align myself with a party that continues to pursue legislation that is bad for our country, hurts our economy, and drives us further and further into debt," said Griffith, who voted against Democrats' three biggest initiatives in 2009: health care, financial regulation and reducing global warming.
In the Senate, at least four Democrats including Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and five-term Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd are in serious trouble. The party could also lose its grip on seats Obama held in Illinois and Vice President Joe Biden long occupied in Delaware.
Going into 2010, Democrats held a 257-178 majority in the House and an effective 60-40 majority in the Senate, including two independents who align themselves with Democrats.

Getting Bush back (if that were possible) is not going to sound like a bogey man to most Americans now.
Republicans as cozy with Wall Street?
Google: obama geithner goldman sachs
By 2010 George W. Bush will be remembered as an honest decent reasonably competent President. The Demorats will look
(and are) as a bunch of goofs (apologies to Goofy).
Opps Bad grammar day

The Democrats have a plan for the 2010 elections...its called splitting the “anti” vote. They intend to fund multiple third and fourth party candidates in hopes that dissatisfied voters will split their votes among the Republican and “other” parties. The hope is that many Democrats will be able to win with 45% of the vote.
I am already hearing, from the MSM, that a record number of third party or independant candidates will be elected in Novemeber. This is the MSM’s way of suggesting to dissatisfied voters that they vote for the third party candidates instead of Republicans.
Zzzzzzzz. That'll be most people's response. Not saying that will necessarily be enough to oust a Dem majority, but this old song & dance isn't going to interest many folks this time around.
They’re going down.
Hey dems. I have a better idea, blame Bush, Nixon and Herbert Hoover. That’s the ticket.
This won’t even rise to the level of beating a dead horse.
By November 2010 the memory of GW will be long since six feet under.
No, Michael Steele is assuring us that GOP will not take back house this year.
44% of Americans would now prefer the previous president. And growing. As an old drill sergeant said to me once, “Boy, did you scout for Custer?”
This crowd isn't satisfied with being voted out of office; they want to be laughed out.
I wish you are right but given the rampant idiocy among voters, most of whom are hopelessly uninformed, and the thuggery of SEIU, ACORN, NEA, PLANNED PARENTHOOD, GLAAD; HOLLYWOOD, and WHITE SINGLE WOMEN (Who According to Gallup Voted “overwhelmingly” for Obama) I’m not so sure.
That sucking sound you’ll be hearing is Nancy Pelosi’s kingdom imploding. She will care less when it’s all over. Nancy did it all for Nancy and damn the American public!
Fear not. All the lefty’s horses and all the lefty’s men (if there are any) cannot put the RATS in this race.
The Republicans, however, do have the power and the experience at blowing golden opportunities. They are the ones to be feared.
REpublicans need to stand firm and separate themselves from the liberals with the following:
1. Clear support of decreasing our dependence on foreign oil by increasing exploration and research here.
2. Clear support of measures that will keep us safe through counter terrorism measures that will include profiling.
3. Clear support of reducing taxes for individuals and business.
4. Clear support for protecting our constitutional rights by opposing legislation that allows the gov’t to control the health care industry.
5. Clear support of measures that will promote free enterprise.
6. Clear support of measures that provide alternatives to abortions, for example, decriminalize reasonable reimbursement to women who adopt out their baby.
7. Clear support of measures that will safeguard our country from terrorist acts by prosecuting terrorists as enemy combatants.
“Clear support of decreasing our dependence on foreign oil by increasing exploration and research here.”
Here’s some ammo for you I plucked from another thread.
“ The U.S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn’t been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and extreme eastern Montana ..... check THIS out: The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, were looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion..”
If you want more, I’ll freepmail the entire report.
